GTU'S VGEC at limelight

Overall Rating
GTU is a government University and Vishwakarma Government Engineering College comes under it. VGEC is one of the top 3 engineering colleges in Gujarat with high placement system. The campus life here is I would say average. The highest placement achieved is 21 LPA from EC department. The students coming here are mostly day scholars.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen Information and Technology Department because of my particular interest in this field. There are no such specific criteria for taking admission, but admission is done on the basis of Central counseling named as ACPC. If you want to take admission in Gujarat than you have to sit for counseling of ACPC.
 

Faculty Rating
In our department, most of the faculties are above 35 and have experience in their particular field. In any department of our college all the faculties are at least have done master's from reputed college. One problem with faculties is that some of them have true passion for teaching but some are just not that good with teaching. All the faculties have more than enough knowledge, but they don't know how to teach.
 

Placement Rating
As compared to other government colleges our placement system is above average. There is Training and Placement Cell at our college which takes responsibility of conducting the placements. Average package of our college is 4 LPA. The highest placement from IT department is 8 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Our college do have hostel in its campus. There are two boys’ hostel and one girl’s hostel in the campus itself. The hostel fee is 1265 for one semester and under that condition the hostel is very nicely maintained. The food is not included in the fees, but the mess has cheap rate food which is not good enough.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our college was established in 2004 so have one of the newest infrastructures as compared to other government colleges. The campus is spread out on around 3-4 acres of land. There is total 11 academic blocks and a separate block for workshop and library. The amenities provided in the workshop are mostly at condition of not working. The library is nice and has books regarding to engineering.
 

Campus Rating
I would rate my campus life as average. There are 5-6 clubs in our college but none of them have proper functioning. The higher authorities do not give proper answer regarding to conducting a fest. Mostly students here are from Ahmedabad itself so there is less hostel life in the campus. There happens a sports fest every year in college which feels like nice.

    I have been studying in this institute from 2022. Firstly I chose this institute because of the low fees. All expensive facilities are at lower fees in this college. And all faculties are very friendly and helpful, I am not just saying this but seriously they are very friendly and have a higher level of knowledge. Labs have all instruments not only required but other than required instruments and facilities. And also they have a public testing laboratory.... Read Full Review

  • GTU's VGEC at a glance
     

    Overall Rating
    GTU's campus is situated at Chandkheda, Ahmedabad. The GTU campus and VGEC campus are neighbors to each other. The some of the faculties here are experienced. In engineering, the faculties are not that much effective for teaching the syllabus but some of them are such good that they will teach until students understand the topics.     My experience at VGEC (Chandkheda) was rewarding and unforgettable. I chose this college for many reasons, VGEC's commitment to quality education. Faculty is knowledgeable and experienced, and classes are designed to provide broad instruction in a variety of subjects. Colleges: The institute has good facilities like modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, a good library and technological equipment. These places encourage learning very well.
