KC Law College LLB Review By Ashvani Kumar

The college made great efforts to make us understand law and thereby made easy studies look tough. Law is one course where practicals are as important as theory and KC Law College thereby did great by ensuring that students get enough exposure and knowledge of legal studies. The college location is one of the best as all the famous spots of South Mumbai such as Cricket Stadium, Gate Way of India, and Taj Hotel are nearby. The college is surrounded by some of the other top colleges such as H.R. and Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics. The fee of our college is so reasonable that anyone can afford. Also free books and other financial aid are provided by the college to the needy students. The college has done a tremendous job in earning a niche for itself in the Law Colleges of Mumbai.

MH-CET-LAW has now become mandatory to get admission in the KC Law College. There are 300 seats and out of those 250 are through merit and 50 through management quota. The college has a certain pattern of studies as they people who recommended me this college told me exactly how the college will follow the module. This means that college has identified a formula and has stick to it. Why change things which are fixed and this is great about college as the classes and practical’s are arranged when and required. The moot court sessions were the place where I learned all the tricks and tried to grasp as much as I can from my seniors. In addition to that we used to have weekly lectures that are conducted by former high court judges and other law experts.

The faculty is highly experienced as all of them are professional lawyers and have practiced law for a while. Some of our professors have also authored some law books and the rich experience that they bring in helped me and other students as well. In short faculty has made KC Law college one of the best and why not as they are certainly the best. The classes and beyond classes too the faculty has also been interactive. The classrooms have been turned digital and the new way of teaching has been successfully adapted by the faculty.

KC Law College gives an option of choosing between a corporate lawyer and litigation. We were trained accordingly and also provided internship on the same lines. Thus the law firms and few corporate were the one who attended the placement week. Unfortunately not many got in hand placements and it were the law firms that hired most of the students. The annual package that was offered was around Rs. 4-5 lakhs. I wish the college makes some effort and invited bid from top corporate to make the placement reasonable.

The campus is too small to accommodate a hostel and therefore there’s no hostel facility in the campus. There are many boys and girls hostel from Church Gate to Breach Candy. One can stay there to cut off the travel time as it eats up most of our time in Mumbai. Also, the classes are held in morning and traveling isn’t easy in Mumbai especially if you are travelling from suburbs.

The college area is small but the locality one of the posh in India. There are 2 building and some small open spaces in the campus. The law college building classrooms are huge and also digital as well. The building has a library on the ground floor which is huge and has many law journals and magazines along with all the law books. Besides library it’s the moot court room that has been the talking point of our college. There’s a pre vegetarian canteen that is shared by HR and KC college. Most importantly it’s the location of the college. The Church gate station is at a walking distance and the bus stop is next to the college. Various hotspots are also nearby and the college building is fully Wi-Fi.

The best part about the college is that from support staff to principal all are student friendly. From taking to admission to convocation ceremony everything about the college was just so good that I had Goosebumps writing the review. The quality of teaching is great and the student teacher conversation was always something that helped me as a student to flourish. The fests were the best part as the Law fests helped us open up while the cultural fests helped us showcase our other skills. The college believed in all round development of the students and they did that whole heartedly. The time that we spent on campus with friends and seniors was something I wish come back again. It's been a while since I have passed out and still miss those days. Whenever I go to town I do try to have a look at the college because of which I have created a space of mine in the society.
