In general, DTU is considered as a tier 1 college, just due to its legacy it has maintained over the years. I chose DTU due to its placement records and college life. Just some days back, Dean of DTU was replaced by Professor Indu. So, there is a chance for a change in curriculum or college acts within a span of 2-3 years. Apart, It is well known for its huge campus spreading across over 100+ acres of land and approx 80+ acres of land in use*. The new buildings are fully functional now, improving the classrooms and all. Just some issue is with the sanity, The older rooms are not that much impressive.

Entry is through JEE MAINS score. Older Curriculum. Academics from my point of view is at par with the curriculum of other colleges but not that enough capable to make us rely upon them for the industry standards. This is because the branches such as COE exists till now, which must had been converted to CSE instead. Despite, attendance requirements are becoming way stricter than before. Minimum of 75% attendance is a must here. Professors and assistant professors are enough qualified. Yet they majorly fail to deliver the appropriate contents to the respective candidates. Coding culture is relatively better than other colleges but not at par with IIIT folks. Overall, I will grade academics 7/10. Even if you study 1 week before exam, you will easily get at last 8.5+ GPA for sure. This is because almost everyone studies one night before exam in DTU.

I would rate the faculty knowledge as 7.5/10. But their delivery of topics and concepts as ~ 3/10. Surely this is a major issue here. DTU profs and assistant profs in general do not know the art of teaching. Sad but true. But keep a note that some exceptions definitely exist. Some instructors are really worth listening too. Labs are okay and so are the lab assistant and workers. Older style of teaching. It is evident that there are smart boards and all in the new buildings yet, only few teachers make the most use of that part.

Yes, there exists a Training and Placement cell. It is quite worthy and probably one of the major reasons that are responsible for students enrolling in DTU undergraduate courses. Yes, TNP really helps in acquiring jobs. There are more than 100 companies visiting the DTU campus and even some come for 6 months + FTE. There is definitely a downfall in the placement and internship stats due to recession across the globe. This will definitely get improved within the coming years once recovery starts. Yet, all the major companies do visit the DTU campus such as Adobe, Microsoft, TRC, Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche, DE Shaw, Atlassian, Arcesium, Wells Fargo, Citi bank, Media Net, Sales force, etc. The CTC and stipends provided resembles the stipends and CTC provided in IITs and other respective tier 1 colleges. So, this is quite evident that placement and intern seasons are quite opportunity enhancers from student’s point of view. Talking about stats, in 2022, approximately 2400 offers rolled out for ~ 1900 students, making it quite an impressive stat.

Older hostels are quite less furnished relative to the newer hostels. As heard from fellow mates, The Mess food is not really awesome, but it is okay for Indian standards, assuming hybrid candidature in the hostels. Do not expect too much from hostels. I guess there is a night curfew for girls in the Campus who live in hostels, around 9'O clock. Still, It is said that hostel life is worth it. New hostels are really awesome. Awesome infrastructure and really good balcony views, I hope there is some laundry service also available. You can expect much well from newer hostels than older ones. For sake of recreation there is a large ground as well as an indoor hall of TT, badminton, etc.

Older infrastructure is a bit untidy when it comes to sanitation. It looks really good from drones and away frames, yet I know the actual condition. The newly developed buildings and hostels too are really superb. There are an 8 floored twin towers built, and it is completely functional now. Air-conditioned classrooms and halls, seminar rooms, etc. all exist. Admin block is near the TNP cell (behind the clock tower). Library is quite big and contains all genres.

Overall campus life for hostellers is surely 9+/10 and 8+/10 for day scholars. Crowd is quite mixed. But majority belong to Delhi region due to state reservations. There are lots of Clubs and tech teams in DTU, Namely AUV, Team INDERNO, etc. Societies are also there in DTU such as IEEE, Assets, Aims, E-CELL, etc. So, you can join any or many of them. There are also societies such as Kalakriti, and Sahitya (the debating society). All these are quite actively working for majority of events in the campus. They often host hackathons and more events regularly. Fests are quite famous in DTU and in fact commonly happening in the campus. The Engifest is the flagship fest of DTU. Also, there are fests such as E Summit by the E CELL DTU. Big mega stars are invited to perform in these respective fests. Last year, Sunidhi Chauhan and Amit trivedi were invited for their performance.
