Government College of Engineering B.Tech Review By Maske Uddhav Ankush

I have completed my Engineering in Information Technology from this college in year 2023 and my four experiences here was not very good. Because the faculties do not teach well and also the lectures are inconsistent. The placement cell in college is not very active and also not supportive to students at the college. Companies visiting to college are very limited in numbers so many students like me do not get opportunities and remain jobless and have to try from off campus. However extra-curricular activities like sports are very engaging and many competitions are also arranged. Student section is also not much active. Also, no guidance is provided to unplaced students. Alumni association is there but not much active. So overall my experience was not good here.

College accepts students on the basis of the MHT-CET counseling process, also the cutoff for it is also high so you need to have good marks in MHT-CET exam. Reservations are there for reserved categories namely OBC, SC, ST and they have fewer cutoffs as well as less admission fees as compared to general candidates. My motive for enrolling in this program was to learn the recent technologies used in IT industries but college do not provide you that.

Teachers in the college are very old and possess high experience. Almost all the teachers have at least 5-6 years of teaching experience and hence they have very good knowledge about their respective subjects. Most of them have a doctorates degree, or master’s degree. But the problem is that despite of having such a great knowledge and experience, their teaching is not understood by students because they have got a very boring teaching style.

Placement performance of college is less than average and should be improved as only around 60-70% of students get opportunities of placements and rest of students remain unplaced.

Hostel facilities are provided by college, but seats are very limited. Hostels are really very affordable. But the food in hostel is not very tasty.

College infrastructure has got very old and is not yet renovated. Also, some branches are located in the same building. College has got auditorium for functions and events. Wi-Fi facilities provided in some part of premises only and computer labs are also limited in numbers. Library is there and also sports ground is also present.

Campus life is not as exciting as it should be. Very limited fests are organized and also clubs are very limited and not much active. Other engagement activities only include sports and social campaigns. Zenith is our main annual fest where you can enjoy a lot. Farewell parties and fresher parties are also very exciting. Crowd is not as active as expected. So nearly decent campus life was there experienced by me.
