Overall Rating
As NIT Silchar is located in Northeast Assam so this area is full of natural beauty and also in research field NIT Silchar is excellent that's the main reason behind NIRF ranking of the institute. The faculties of the institute are qualified and have industrial experience too. As I'm in B.Tech second year so there is no ragging culture in the institute.
 

Academics Rating
As I already mentioned that all the faculties of institute are qualified, and the professors of core branches have academic experience too. All labs have their basic equipment and some of the labs have AC too. For the study of students in CCC building there's a lab which is open 24x7 for students. For the 3rd and 4th year students' classrooms are theatre based.
 

Faculty Rating
Most of the faculties have PhD degree. All the faculties are friendly in nature and all the faculties try to remove all those hurdles which are in between student which distract them to focus on studies. And also, faculties are friendly. Some of the faculties are too friendly that they became like friends to us.
 

Placement Rating
There is a huge growth in placements of institute. The Training and Placement Cell of NIT Silchar is too hard working. For last year the highest package was 80 LPA and the average package was 12 LPA, and the percentage placement was almost 90%.
 

Hostel Rating
There are 9 boys’ hostel and 4 girl hostels in the institute. Some hostel rooms are 2-seater; 3-seater and some hostels have single seater room too. Mess food is average. In 2nd year you have to live with PhD scholars. hostel rooms have all basic facilities like table fan, lanport, etc.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are smart boards in lecture halls. Labs are equipped with instruments and computer systems. Computer labs have AC in them for keeping rooms cool when so many systems are running at a time. All labs have LAN connection and free Wi-Fi. The institute also has Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Learning Resource Centre, which is the Asia's Largest Library.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life amazing. Some or the other fest is held all around the year. There are cultural fests and tech fests. All the clubs organise their own events too, most of which are open to all. Speaker sessions are held. Festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm. There are several clubs in nit Silchar like illuminates literally club, financial club, coding club, machine learning club, etc.

    I am a student at NIT Silchar pursuing B.Tech in electronics and communication engineering. Overall my experience in NIT Silchar is good. I have made lots of friends here. The reason I choose NIT Silchar is that it is very close to my home town i.e. just 8 hours and the NIRF ranking is also good.     The overall experience in NIT Silchar is not bad. I chose this Institute because it has the sports facilities and it is in my interest. The natural environment is appreciable. The placement is also decent. In NIT Silchar, ragging is strictly prohibited which lacks in many Institutes. The clubs and societies are very active helping students to showcase their talent.     National Institute of Technology, Silchar has one of the most beautiful and lush green campus across all NIT's in India. Infrastructure, faculty, facilities, academics, and classrooms are very well maintained. There is the campus of 625 acres with many different things around the whole institute.     My overall experience at the institute is far better than average. I chose this particular institute because of the NITian tag, NIRF ranking, and its huge campus size. It is an institute of national importance with good alumni network and helpful seniors.
