Life at NITJ

Overall Rating
NITJ is all about learning. The admission in NITJ is done from the JEE mains result. We could have reservation on home state or other state. If you are from Punjab then it will be a bit easy to get admission in the prestigious college like NITJ. We could find a great environment for learning as it could be competitive because of tough competition for placements and in all tech related events. I found this college according to my capabilities and reach.
 

Academics Rating
I am currently B.Tech final year student in NITJ from Electronics and Communications Engineering. It's the prominent branch of NITJ where we can get exposure of both IT sector and semiconductor sectors. From the past few years top placements are grabbed from the students of this branch. If your rank is under 20k then you could easily get enroll in this course in NITJ.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty of ECE branch is good. Some are cooperative and some are not. They all have good academic backgrounds as they all have done their PG and PhD from IIT's.Some are very senior so we can learn from their experiences, and many have good knowledge of projects. So, it could have a great impact on students for innovation. Some teachers have good way of teaching and for some you could have to watch YouTube to complete the syllabus.
 

Placement Rating
NITJ have their own Placement Cell (TPO - Training and Placement Office). Till now they have done a great work by providing almost 90% placements of NITJ. Due to recession, our college and almost every NIT is facing the same issue. Companies are hiring a low number of students due to recession. Overall, you could find good placements in NITJ.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure of NITJ is good as compared to other engineering colleges in Punjab. We have a Central Library, but its timing is the worst as it opens only during classes i.e., 9am to 5:30pm. ECE department has the best building in the campus. Administrative building is also good as it was built from the time of the college establishment.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life of NITJ is good. We have mainly two fests in a year i.e., Utkansh which is the cultural fest of our college and Techniti which is our technical fest of our college. We have a good number of clubs in our college like crew for dance, Kalakaar for dramatics and Octaves for music and many more. We also have cultural events like Bharat Dhwani where every club showcases their talents. We also have sports fest which consists of many sports activities among the students.

    Earlier, I was not about to take admission here but as the situations changed after my JEE Mains result, this institute was offering me the best I could get based on my rank, Information Technology. I searched about this institute and got mixed reviews. Somehow I finally decided to take admission here.
