Is IIIT Ranchi worth joining?

Overall Rating
I am a fresher at the institute and my branch is ECE with ES and IoT. And my first experience with this college is very good as I expected nothing. My score in JEE was not that good and it is the only college I was getting so I expected nothing. But to my surprise the college was good, it's still in its growing stage so we can’t expect it to compete with top IITs or NITs but it’s doing great.
 

Academics Rating
The academics are very different from regular colleges where you just study Maths, Physics, Chemistry and other subjects and get into core from 2nd year. In IIITs it’s very different you get to study core subjects, Maths, Computer Programming, Electrical Technology, etc. from the 1st year itself, so you get a kick start compared to others. This is what I like about IIITs. You will even have Computer Science and Electronics Lab from the start itself. Same in IIIT Ranchi, the academics are great with very supportive and approachable faculty.
 

Faculty Rating
The entire faculty and highly qualified and have PhDs in their respective fields. Most of the professors are graduated from IIT's some from NIT's. The faculty is very supportive and approachable as I mentioned above. They teach very well and solve any doubts whenever they get time. All the faculty members are highly experienced and can help you greatly in your carrier.
 

Placement Rating
We have a Placement Cell in IIIT Ranchi; it not only helps you get placements but also internship in 3rd year. There are also many events organized by E-cell, which very helpful in building the resume and a perfect mind map to your goal.
 

Hostel Rating
The 1st years hostels are one of the best hostels I have ever seen. I can easily guarantee you that you will rarely get hostels this nice. It’s a flat system with 2BHK and 3BHK rooms, 2 in bedrooms, 2 in hall a total of 6 to 8 members will be in a flat. You will be given a table and chair also. But there are power cuts too which is also improving. Apart from that it’s great.
 

Infrastructure Rating
So, we don't have a permanent campus yet. The permanent campus is being constructed and is expected to be completed by 2025-26. IIIT Ranchi is currently running in 3 different campuses. One for 1st years, for second for 2nd years and the other for both 3rd and 4th year students. The new campus is being constructed in 66 acres. 1st year is running in JUT campus on lease.
 

Campus Rating
As we still don't have a permanent campus, the campus life is limited. Still there are many clubs including sports club, Tech Club (called House of geeks), and many more. Many online and offline events are also held, But not as much as in IITs or NITs. This is bit of a drawback in IIITs you won’t get to see a lot of events. But if you want a good package and decent campus life, then you can always consider IIIT Ranchi as a good option.

    The reason to choose the college was very simple and that was the placements of the college. Our college has average placement of ₹16.83 lakh.     I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering because my rank didn't allow me to do CSE (I wasn't interested in ECE) and the lecturer to student ratio is 64:1. If one is only interested in placements, then only one should join this IIIT. College life is negligible. One should enrol in NITs if they want to enjoy college life.... Read Full Review

    The college provides a conducive environment for study and experienced teachers. The institute offers a rigorous curriculum that equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for a successful career in the IT industry. The campus is equipped with normal facilities, including laboratories, a library, and other resources that enhance the learning experience. The mess food is average in the college....     Overall, a good college with decent college life and placement and outside market is available for necessary things. Classes have centralized AC but only fan is functioning, one ground is available for playing, mess food is satisfactory, and hostel is very good compared to IIT and NIT. Teachers are very helpful....
