PB Siddhartha College Arts and Science B.Sc Review By N.h Ranganadh

I have completed my 12th standard from the same college. While I was studying in my 12th standard, a new course called B.Sc AIML was introduced in our college in association with blackbucks company. My eye catches this on a news article and I am interested in the concept of AI so, I decided to join this course, but at that time I don't know the faculty teaching methods and academic standards. After joining the college, I came to know the harsh reality of the subject and faculty, if any one wants to take up this course please do a lot of research before joining, please interact with the Senior students, this is my humble request.

The eligibility criteria is very simple, you don’t need to attend any entrance exam as your 12th marks will be enough. You need to have a math background in your 12th standard and a good percentage of 80-90% for getting admission into this course; the admission process is completely online. There are three counselling sessions in online admission process, if you don't get the admission in first counselling you probably won't get the seat in 2nd and 3rd counselling because the course has a lot of demand. If you want it you can take a management seat as soon as you complete your 12th because the seats are very limited.

Coming to the faculty members, many of them are having PG background. The faculty who teaches this course is not as good as I expected, some teachers are good enough but some of them don't know how to teach the basic concepts of Programming to students effectively. In many cases they won't complete the syllabus on time; you don't have time for preparation before exams because they will teach the syllabus even before one of exam. They follow text book teaching and many of them have no real time practical experience with the subject they teach you. I was unable to clear the LinkedIn skill test.

I am pursuing my 2nd year now I never heard about a placement cell till now, but I think a kind of placement cell which tries to bring companies to our college but there is separate training for placements. We have a highest package of nearly 7-8 LPA, but many of the placement packages are 1.5-3 LPA.

I am a day scholar student so I don't know much about the college hostel, but my friends always says that the food is not good, the taste and quality is not good. The hostel infrastructure is good with trees and play ground.

The college infrastructure is good, the college has NACC A+ grade. The college has 3-4 blocks and the labs are not well equipped. In some labs the computers are outdated, but some labs are very good. We have a very good library and the canteen is recently renovated. The canteen provides nice food.

There are more than 10 clubs, 4 NCC units, 2 NSS units running in the college. Every year each department organises a fest. Computer science department organizes blitz criez event every year which has more than 500 participants from many colleges. The institute overall campus life is average and events are organised once a year. There will be no fresher’s day.
