An overwhelming experience at VIT

Overall Rating
I joined VIT Vellore in 2023 in B.Tech CSE with specialisation in AI ML. I’ve loved the college ever since I started. I had an option between VIT and 2 other colleges: Amrita Vidyapeetham and Thapar Institute. I chose VIT since it had higher average package, higher NIRF ranking and also had a few restrictions (not as much as amrita but not too less as thapar).
 

Academics Rating
The course I’m in is B.Tech Computer Science with Specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. It has no entry requirements and eligibility but it’s much better if you know python basics. I was really pumped to join this course, since I really loved the idea of working in the field of Artificial Intelligence. It always has fascinated me how there’s such powerful AI tools like Chat GPT and BARD AI helping us in real time to finish our tasks.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty here is very good. All of them are Ph.D Professors with minimum 3-4 years teaching experience. A lot of them are from IITs as well. The student to teacher ratio is around 15:1. In the first year, we have Physics, BEEE, Chemistry and Calculus as core theory subjects whereas Python is lab integrated class. All the teachers try to make everyone understand the concept twice or even thrice. They also upload course material online so that you can review it later as well.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is a Placement Cell at VIT Vellore and it definitely helps the students acquire the jobs they want to get placed at.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, Hostels exist at VIT Vellore. The hostel life is amazing, one of the best experiences ever. The food here is very good and is available in every block so that you don’t have to walk far for food every time. There are total 17 men’s hostel blocks and 3 ladies hostel blocks currently and each is very huge and close to academic buildings.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are many academic blocks in VIT out of which, 3 are the most important due to them having all the classes for 1st and 2nd year students. They are Technology Tower (TT), Silver Jubilee Tower (SJT) and Pearl Research Park (PRP). All of them look incredibly beautiful with greenery all around them and also have food shops and stationery stores inside them.
 

Campus Rating
You will have an amazing campus life at VIT Vellore. There are mainly two big fests: Gravitas and Riviera. Gravitas is a tech fest and Riviera is a cultural fest. Both have a lot of participation and are a lot of fun. In the cultural fests, many speakers, standup comedian and even actors come to VIT. There’s also a lot of music and dance clubs which never fail to entertain us.

    I opted Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore over other institutes because the rules in this institute are very perfect for me. They are parent friendly and also student friendly.   • Computer Science and Engineering at VIT Vellore

    VIT, Vellore is a really great institute for anyone who is interested to pursue engineering. It has a wonderful campus of around 375 acres. It has all sorts of amenities that you expect from a premier institute. I chose this institute for its all round brilliance and because of the fact that it is ranked 11th in the NIRF ranking.   • Placement Opportunities and Infrastructure at VIT Vellore

    Curriculum: I am currently pursuing CSE at Vellore Institute of Technology. Learnt basics and everything is going fine. There is a great thing called FFCS here where I could choose my desired faculty and course according to my interest. One can get enough freedom of doing his/her desired course. Clubs: VIT has many clubs which keep organizing events in a regular interval of time.
