Overall Rating
NITK is the top NIT among all the NITs. It has its private beach, and it is the greenest area of India. This place is full of natural beauty and a student never gets bored here. The academic status of NITK is non comparable. The faculties are good, qualified having sound knowledge of academics. There are very good placements in NITK. So, if one gets a seat in NITK then he should definitely go for it.
 

Academics Rating
All the course curriculum is designed in such a way that the students need to put less efforts from their side. Many of them have won some national and international awards. A student must pass JEE mains exam and must get appropriate rank to get admission in NITK and he/she must have minimum 75% marks in +2 exams.
 

Faculty Rating
The teaching staff is well qualified. The best part is that all the faculties are at least Ph.D. holders. Many of them have done research in foreign universities. For this, they have won many prizes as well. Since they have very good experience of teaching, they teach in such a manner so that a student can grasp all the concepts easily.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of NITK is not so good as there is so much rain in Surathkal and the institute was established so long ago in 1960. All the hostel buildings are so old. The departments are newly constructed and some of them are old but are well maintained so that they do not like so old. There are well maintained labs of the IT department.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life of NITK is so exciting and full of joy. There are almost 7000 students, faculties and departmental officers live there in the campus. There are separate quarters for staff. There are technical and non-technical clubs in the NITK. There are five exclusive clubs which are IEEE, IET, ISTE, IE and ACM. The cultural fest of NITK is Incident and technical fest is Engineer.

    My experience at National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal is great. There are a lot of things to do in this institute. Other than academic work it provides lots of other opportunities and activities for the student such as sports, singing and many other things.     NITK Surathkal is one of the most precious institutes. After admission, I love it very much. Firstly, the infrastructure is superb. The academic structure is also very good and is upgrading day by day with this modern world. The fee structure is very affordable. One special factor is that it has its own private beach.     I am currently a 2nd year student in B.Tech EEE branch at NITK. So coming into this institute was never decided. The story begins with a student preparing for IIT did well in MAINS have CRL 7384 but then bored and messed up in ADVANCE and ends up with a bad rank. From the ADVANCE rank I was not able to get to a good IIT so decide going for NIT instead.     NITK is the second ranked NIT after NIT Trichy. Its teachers, alumni and students make it a college worth studying in.
