Graphic Era Hill University is a private organisation and despite a private university its prime intention is to provide an educational degree at a nominal fee. The college was established in the year 2011 and accredited by NAAC and also a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU). We had a group of school friends studying in the same college because there are numerous streams to choose from like Engineering, IT and Software, Business and Management Studies, Design, Law, Humanities and numerous other streams.

The basic admission criteria for getting a seat in the college is on merit bases. A student who is willing to take admission in the university can apply by both the means that is online and offline. There are 30% of seats that are devoted to the students living in Uttarakhand and want to pursue B.Tech and I took advantage of this as my family is living in Uttarakhand state. Students who want to get admission in M.Tech needs to give GATE exam and their GATE score will be considered for getting admission. After filling your application form the University will update a list of shortlisted candidates by counseling sessions conducted by the university. Students who have been shortlisted can deposit their fee through online mode by credit card, debit card and net banking or by offline mode by going to the admission cell but I suggest you submit the fee online because it saved my money and time by not going to the campus.

I am an alumnus of Graphic Era Hill University and completed my B. Tech degree in computer science and engineering in 2019. You can get B.Tech in any branch if you had physics, chemistry and maths in your 10+2 curriculum and with a minimum aggregate of 60 per cent that too from a recognised board of education. For me, the admission process was hassle-free because I gave JEE Mains exam and scored 72 percentile and this is decent score to get admission in B.Tech CSE. If your percentage and JEE Mains percentile are above or equal to the desired criteria of the course then you will be shortlisted for counseling sessions conducted by the college. The reason I opted for B.Tech in computer science and engineering is I constantly crave for learning and getting familiar with modern technologies and evolving use of the internet. In this type of field, there are endless possibilities for me to perform any kind of thing which I want to do. I can relax at a place and can have access to the whole world with just a few clicks isn't this stuff fascinating?

By the time I completed my course I realised that by opting for B.Tech I did a great career preference as the subjects that are included in the course are exceptionally fascinating and you will get to know a hell lot of stuff that will blow up your psyche and turn you to a mindful personality. Job opportunities are surplus in this field of learning. You can explore the massive world of computer science for your wisdom and interests but also you gain money by working for your patrons. There is a never-ending list of opportunities for earning in this field. I started working as a freelancer when I was in college for my experience and money after the final year of college I have created 3 websites for an International company as a freelancer.

In my course of B.Tech in computer science and engineering, there are a total of 34 faculty members which includes the vice-chancellor, professor and associate professor. In the college, subjects are not only taught by the professors and associate professors but moreover by the vice-chancellor of the college. I have seen that there are 200 plus faculty members and staff members on the campus which is quite a decent amount of number in terms of faculty. In my sense of observation, we can divide the faculty members into two different categories and the first one mainly includes the one who completed their graduation from top-ranking colleges and universities and holding years of experience in teaching. The other type of faculty members comprises the one who were the alumni of the university and now teaching in the same university as professors.

The primary concern in appointing the alumni as forthcoming lecturers is that they don't have work experience in the field of teaching. Sadly, the faculty mostly embodies the alumni members. Nevertheless, there exist some teaching staff from the alumni department that I have encountered with, and they were incredibly gentle and possess great awareness in their specific dependent. Approximately 60 per cent of the faculty component are PhD qualified degree but the remaining distinct members have accomplished their M.Tech, B.Sc, MBA, M.Sc and some of them exist with a degree and teaching in the same university that they were a part of. The teaching personnel are extremely humble and will anyhow be there to assist you and boost your morale in every aspect of your college life. The teaching staff is well qualified and has a thorough knowledge of their specific subject but their quality of teaching is not decent as they know but lack in transferring their knowledge to the students.

I was in my last semester in the year 2020, and I was extremely nervous and worried because of a covid-19 pandemic. I was uncertain about the college placement that will the number of companies coming in the campus would be more or less from the previous year because of the recession caused by the corona virus. Regardless of the pandemic, 200 plus companies were visited on the campus for placement which is way too more than last year's placement and I got super cheerful for the placement. The placement cell was very helpful and active. We were eligible to sit for the in-campus placement from our 7th semester, and we were taught by the placement cell how to verbally interact in a professional attitude, they taught us how to develop our skills. In the training sessions, we are divided into groups and group discussions are done and mock interviews are conducted and this helped me to increase my confidence for my primary interview. The top companies which I witnessed on the campus were Tata, Adobe, Amazon, Wipro, Infosys, Yamaha, UPCL, IBM and various others.

The batch which receives the highest placement offer is B.Tech in CSE. The highest package in my batch was of Rs. 43.95 LPA and was given by Adobe company and surprisingly last year the highest package was of Rs. 26.25 LPA. The average package provided to the students in my batch was of Rs. 5.40 LPA. In our batch, most of the students were placed in a company by in campus placement and with a decent package was offered to them. I noticed that if a student is not causing pain in the head of the professors and submitting assignments before any delay then you will most probably be placed in any company. In my batch there 80 per cent of the students got placed by in campus placement.

There were a total of 11 hostels provided for us. The different hostel has a different number of rooms in them and the total strength of student in my batch was 2500. There were separate buildings for girls and boys at a distance. The hostel was divided into two types that are the rooms with air conditioners and rooms without air conditioners and both the category have a difference in their fee. I would recommend you to get a room that does not have an air conditioner in it because Dehradun is a place surrounded by mountains and the climate stays cold, and we never felt a necessity of air conditioning rooms. I opted for the hostel which does not have ac installed in it and it works for me.

The non-ac rooms are much cheaper than the ac ones. For none ac rooms I paid Rs. 1,05,000 per year and the same room with ac would have cost me Rs. 1,30,000 per year. I loved the cafeteria of our college and spend most of the time with my buddies there. The quality of food delivered to us at the hostel’s mess was good and delicious as compared to other colleges because my other friends those who are studying in different college are not satisfied with their hostel mess. The mess provides both veg and non-veg type of meals and I the nov veg category is my personal favorite. The cost of the mess is included in the hostel fee. As for the security purpose, there were cameras inside as well as outside of the hostels for our safety. Every hostel has security guards at their entrance, and we have to mark our attendance every time we go out. In our hostel were managed by our wardens, and they help us with any difficulty faced by us. In hostel facilities given to us were ATMs are installed, transportation, clubs for the fest, laundry service, Wi-Fi connectivity and 24 hours of water and electricity.

Frankly speaking, the campus is extremely vast and elegant and it took me more than a week to explore it properly. Campus is entirely enclosed by greenery from all viewpoints. The campus is very close to Rajaji National park and this was the first place for me and my friends for the trip and the scenery of the stunning Shivalik range can be observed from the college premises. College is positioned at the cantonment neighborhood and because of this I never heard of any disturbing sounds. Hill university is a newly established building with all the essential requirement and this is one of my reason to take admission. The University is adequately equipped with all the latest technology and tools expected by the student to make full usage in their curriculum.

GEHU is altogether installed with lifts, has an adequate basement parking for the automobiles, has a complete air conditioning seminar halls, classrooms are installed with projectors and smart boards and it helped me to understand the topics via graphic layout, campus and hostel area have Wi-Fi connectivity, the library is great and includes several books to choose from including the curriculum ones and other various types of books and well-equipped experiment labs. The campus and hostel are huge and needs to be neat and tidy and for this, there are adequate staffs to maintain the college premises and there are very polite in their behavior. There are sufficient staff members to take care of your laundry service and insure to deliver our clothes clean and ironed. In the campus, there is a large cafeteria where we used to sit and relax and enjoy our break and campus includes small various types of food van at different places. There is an infirmary room for us where we can go if we are not feeling well and a team of doctors will examine you and will provide the necessary medication.

The campus is exceptionally delightful and pleasant to be in and a sense of positivity I felt throughout my four years of course. In the campus, we have several ways for us to rejoice and make our college life worth remembering. I am very fond of going to the gym and do weight training and it makes me feel satisfied, so I joined the gym in GEHU campus and the gym has a very professional feel and contains all the basic equipment needed. In the campus and inside the hostel, there is a huge ground for us to play and for executing any type of physical training and after college hours this was my prime and most loved place to be with my friends. There are many sports to choose from including cricket, football, tennis, volleyball, basketball and some indoor games like table tennis, chess, ludo are available for the hostel students to play in their spare time and pleasure.

There is also a bus service provided by the college for both the type of students who are staying in the hostel or staying anywhere else but not in the hostel. All the 13 buses are assigned for various localities in Dehradun and any student can travel on the bus. The college also takes the students for outings at any desired place of our choice. We went to Mussoorie. Numerous events and functions are always going on the campus because it is located at elegant sovereignty and has a great impression on everyone and because of this aspect many celebrities and professionals visit the college campus for their advertisement and promotions. The college organises multiple events for the students and helps us to evolve a confident and optimistic personality as a whole. The main fest of the college that is Grafest is organised by the University itself and takes place two times a year. Grafest is the greatest fest organised by our college and many prestigious personalities are invited to showcase their talent and make us cheerful.
