R G KAR - a diverse destiny

Overall Rating
The Institute is highly esteemed in our country. It's one the best medical college in our city with daily patient turnover of around 10000. Being a student in our college one can get a hands-on experiences on varied clinical cases to learn from. The Institute has a very prime location which is well connected by all means of transport. In 2019 it got a rank of 11 in India by a survey conducted by the times magazine.
 

Academics Rating
A student has to clear the NEET UG exam with an AIR of 15000 to get selected in our college. The exam is conducted by the NTA annually in the month of May. The form for the exam costs Rs 1500 which is released in the NTA website in the month of April. This course does not only provide us with a degree of MBBS but also provides us with an opportunity to serve the people of our country.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members are renowned doctors and pretty much skilled in their respective departments. All of them have a post graduate degree in their various fields. The teaching methods are pretty good. We have lectures, tutorials and practical classes. The style of teaching is pretty unique and based on the new medical curriculum as set by the NMC. We also have a self-directed learning class where the students are required to self-learn a particular topic and present it in front of the class.
 

Placement Rating
All the final year students have to do a mandatory internship with a stipend of Rs 28000 per month.
 

Hostel Rating
We have 4 boys' hostel. One in Manicktala, another one in Belgachia, one in Paikpara and the last main boys’ hostel inside the campus. For girls we have 2 hostels which are inside the main campus. The hostel fees are Rs 11 per month and it comes with a mess and a common room with a TV a table tennis board and a carom board.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is a pretty big one. We have various different blocks for various departments. We have a big library for the students and the doctors with plenty of books and journals. We have a morgue with the forensics department. A BCR and a GCR and 3 canteens for the students. Apart from this, we have a badminton court an academic block for the students and even a nursing and a paramedical college.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is pretty good. Right now, we have 5 batches with 250 students per batch. Apart from academics we have various extracurricular activities in our college. We have two annual fests in our college. One is the cultural fest called LOBELIA another one is the medical fest called THERAPEUO. Apart from the fest we have various sports and cultural clubs which conduct intra college dance, music and drama competitions. We have our annual picnics and sports day for all the batches and other cultural events on the occasion of the Founder's Day.
