Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in 2006 by Vidhya Peeth Trust, Panipat. PIET is affiliated with Kurukshetra University. The college was accredited "A+" NAAC in 2019. This Panipat located college is mostly recognized for Engineering and Business studies. PIET has been a great attraction towards the students inside North India who dreamed of Pursuing Engineering as Higher studies. Due to its low fee structure, the college is highly recommended for Middle-class families. PIET got a good amount of students from Delhi too. Despite numerous Engineering colleges in Delhi, students prefer to take admission in PIET. I was personally impressed by the reputation of the college in Delhi. In my opinion, PIET is really a great engineering college in Haryana.

The college could be a tough competitor for other engineering colleges in North India in the field of Engineering. But this thing is not happening soon. This could take at least 3-4 years. Although, it is already considered as the #1 Engineering college in North India, on some websites. But no doubt it ranks at the top position in the NCR region. The Admission process is really straight forward. You don't need to crack any special entrance exam. Though, a good rank holder in JEE Mains can get a handsome discount on fees. There will be no admission issue if you are already 2-3 months late. Management will settle it by themselves which makes a good positive impression. You do have to submit some basic documents to the college which you can withdraw most probably by the end of semester one.

I was in the technical field since my childhood. That's why B.Tech in Computer Science seems the best option. I didn't have to appear for any entrance exam. So if you are looking forward to taking admission in PIET anytime, relax from the burden of entrance exam preparation. Though as stated above JEE Mains rank can get you a good scholarship. The course has 6 subjects every semester, making it 48 in total. First-year content was more theoretical and related to our 12th class Non-medical studies which actually pissed me. We were taught the basics of computer programming in semester one and semester two has nothing related to Programming languages. Though as we reached semester third, we got to learn programming language distributed in four different subjects.

I was actually very happy because now I was dealing with actual Computer programming. I got to learn a little about Entrepreneurship and Business in semester 3 which actually impressed me a lot because that was not expected. I see my seniors developing new software and project works which is making me more excited for the upcoming years of my graduation. I got to learn from my seniors that apart from their course classes, they are training for their interview. The Interview training classes are mostly seen for students from semester six and six onwards.

Talking about faculty, my teachers are highly educated and experienced. My teachers even do own a number of thesis, patents, and research history which actually made me feel proud learning from them. I don't want to you think of my teachers as senior citizens coming to college in 3 piece suit walking in a strict manner. They do actually behave as friends. Healthy interaction with teachers is one of the reasons why most of the students don't have to worry about attendance.

Teachers do a great job in making classes an enjoyable place which makes students sit more in the classes than in the gardens. Although they (teachers) are very strict when talking about assignments submission, practical, and other stuff. Which actually is fair enough. But the real word is, being ready to write a lot of assignments if you are coming to college in the future. Teachers are instructed to be friendly but there should be no compromising with the discipline maintenance. So if you are reading this review after watching some immature web series on college life, be ready to be getting disappointed. PIET's college life is far different from the life illustrated in movies. But I am sure you will enjoy it enough if you can manage to make good friends around you.

I can comfortably say that the placement cell of the college is full of intellectual brains. They managed to amaze us every year. Being an engineering college, companies like TCS, Infosys, Dell, HCL, and many more visit us. But the most surprising moment was when we see a company like Amazon was recruiting new brains from our college, I was really so much happy. Because it was the company that has the potential to pay a dream salary. There's no biasing during the placement. If you are capable, Congratulation! You are getting your dream job. Required training programs are available to students which make them more confident in Interviews and Group discussion rounds.

If you are really dedicated enough, I would recommend preparing for the placements by the beginning of your fifth semester. Not just Computer Science students, but students from mechanical, electrical, and textile branches got a decent package. But still, I would say you have to make sure you got something extraordinary which makes you different from other students. It's 10% college and 90% you during placements. Not to worry because of hard words, our experienced faculty members are always there to help you. I would highly recommend you to maintain at least "8 CGPA" from the first semester; it will hold you an extra privilege during placements.

There are 2 hostel buildings for boys and 1 for girls. Hostels have both air-conditioned rooms and regular ones. It depends upon one's suitability which one to go for. There is 24*7 electricity and water supply available. Students got a laundry room too. PIET really deserves a salute when talking about the security provided to hostel students. Students sometimes really feel disappointed because of security officials being strict. But that's a thing every parent would prefer. I got to listen a lot about the night canteen which is opened only at night.

Although students really don't prefer eating at cafeteria due to the bad taste of food. Hostel fees vary depending upon different factors but it can go Rs. 90,000 per year at most. Students are given 2 out passes weekly to go nearby urban area to buy daily use things or go for routine work like hair cutting. Though it was heard that the out pass facility will be changing and now students will be allowed to go one time a week. Students are really enjoying hostel life but the strictness level is comparatively high from other colleges which actually resist students from experiencing a lot many college life things.

PIET land covers an area of 16 acres with 1 Administration Building, 4 Main Buildings, 4 Hostel Buildings, and 1 big Cafeteria in the center. We got playgrounds for every typical sport we play in. The library is what captures the attention of most students who visit the college. The library is huge; you can get a book on anything. I would rate 10 out of 10 on Library. Classrooms and labs are well air-conditioned. There are several Auditoriums depending upon the strength of students to accumulate.

There are different workshops dedicated to different activities like welding, carpentry, and so on. Apart from the main cafeteria, we got to see smaller canteens at different corners of the campus making sure you are not more than 30 seconds away when you are feeling hungry. Though there's no special franchise like Subways or McDonald's but don't forget the low fee structure of the college. We got a well-equipped gym for both boys and girls. I have literally heard a lot many positive things about the trainee. So if you have a bad body shape, make sure you bring your fitness kit with you. It's time to change your physical appearance. The overall layout of the college campus is praised by many people.

There are several communities and clubs in college which helps in personality development and improve social life. Participating in these activities is also recommended because college life is not just about academics. Although I am not that much satisfied with my college life when I compare myself with my schoolmates. But this is the best choice you got if you are restricted to take admission outside Haryana.

Make sure you are making good friends and building a happy relation with teachers, this will help you in long term. Also, it is really an affordable option among other engineering colleges. I wish you the best of luck in your upcoming college life.
