Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology is one of the best and well known colleges for engineering in Mumbai. Situated in Nerul, Navi Mumbai it comes under Mumbai University affiliated with D.Y. Patil Group of Colleges. It is an A grade college for many years now and has also been awarded as a first ranker in Overall Championship for Engineering colleges under Mumbai University 2019-20 though not for the first time. RAIT constantly has earned laurels and rewards as it continues to earn its first place in overall academics through a disciplined and well maintained decorum.

Students for B.E. (Bachelors of Engineering) can get admission through the common entrance tests like JEE or MHT-CET. They should be qualified in any of the two entrance tests. Visiting the college's website eligible students can fill and submit in a detailed online admission form. The management here is very supportive, calm and hears out to every student related to any requirement and does not keep one waiting for long hours. In my passing out years I have constantly seen the Institute for a strong desire to grow and improve its quality as per the need of the hour by maintaining its pace with ever changing time. The management constantly works for upgrading the institute in terms of infrastructure and academics.

I had joined the EnTC department mainly because of my interest in core subjects. I got a seat in RAIT due to my MHT-CET marks. The optional subjects in 3rd year also were those I was looking forward to. 4 years of my academic was conceptually satisfactory with the faculty that taught EnTC subjects. The teachers were very supportive when it came to understanding small details of any subject. The only disappointment here was that not many core companies approach RAIT for placements so had to opt for IT recruitment. But with the teachings during my college days and work experience gained I soon switched to a reputed core company.

The faculty is well versed with their subjects, supportive and always ready to guide. Head of the Departments of every engineering branch are PhDs while the rest faculty are Post graduates. Every department has 10 to 15 teachers excluding the Head of the department. Teaching experience vary from 3 to 12 years. I was in the EnTC department and the teachers were quite well versed with their subjects and calm by nature. Regular classes, assignments and doubt solving sessions held by the teachers benefits the students.

The IT and Computer Department have the best faculties. The college through various in-house activities, competition, quiz forums, seminars tries to inculcate self belief in the students encouraging to learn more. Even in the pandemic college had conducted online webinars of well established people in varied fields which were highly informative and recommendable step by the faculty. The college with academic excellence focuses on overall development of each student by making them ready to face the corporate world.

The placement cell in RAIT is remarkable. With companies like John Jacobs, JP Morgan, BSE, L&T, TCS, Microsoft, Accenture approaching for recruitment with packages Rs. 2 to Rs. 4.5 LPA makes RAIT as one of the most sorted college for admission. 65 to 75% of the students are recruited every year with not less than 12 to 15 companies approaching for placements.

TCS itself recruits 45-55% of the students with a package of Rs. 4.5 LPA. The college keenly prepares their students for such platforms and they confidently face the interview. The placements are mostly held in the final year of engineering. Most of the placement offering companies are IT based. Not many core companies approach for the Electronics Department so they have lesser choice and go for an IT based company.

RAIT has only girls hostel and no boys hostel. The rates are very high almost Rs. 1 lakh annually. 25 rooms with only 50 beds available. So only early applicants get the facility. Girls hostels do have mess in the ground floor with good food quality. Any kind of high end electrical appliances like heater, cooler, geyser, electric oven, iron, electric cooker are not allowed in the room.

The hostel security is high and under 24hrs CCTV surveillance. Common hot water tap at every floor is available. Laundry facility is exclusive of room rent. College administration is very helpful at such circumstances if anyone is in search of a room may contact them.

RAIT has a huge campus with the DY Patil Stadium at half a kilometer distance. The college has two main gates. Other than the RAIT canteen there is a separate cafeteria near DY Patil Medical College. In case of a medical emergency DY Patil hospital is just a walk away. Along with RAIT building Law college, Medical college, primary school, huge playground and an Olympic size pool, girls hostel all are within the campus itself.

The auditorium has a capacity of maximum 800 people at a time. The library is well equipped with curriculum books enough for the student capacity. Anyone searching for novels or fiction books at this library will be disappointed.

The campus along with special cells for extra curriculum activities also has anti-raging cell to curb any kind of nuisance always maintaining harmony in the campus. RAIT is famous for its festivals and is a breeding ground for many of the country talents. There is always scope to polish ones communication skills as debates, representing various events are given a lot of preference.

Conducting various sports activities or celebrating festivals students from other colleges also participate in RAIT fests like Kalaraag making the campus environment healthy competitive with scope of self improvement for the RAITians.
