JNTUH College of Engineering B.Tech Review By Vineeth Ram

I am a third year student in the Electrical And Electronics Engineering course offered by JNTUH. This course is part of the B.Tech program, which is done after intermediate. I am a lateral entry student that means I was admitted into this course in second year through Engineering common entrance test. My initial thoughts after joining this college were very positive, as the campus is very large having an area of 100 acres. The infrastructure in the college was also commendable. The reason I chose this college was mainly because of its reputation. It is deemed as one of the best engineering colleges in the entire state. Alumni’s of JNTUH include lot of famous personalities. As the classes began, I was pleased to know the qualifications of the professors in the institution. Each professor was highly qualified and had a great understanding of the subject they thought. I would suggest you to join this college if you want professors that are experienced and experts of their respective domains. The college even has an entrepreneurial culture that helps in promoting the idea of startups among the students.

The course I have enrolled in is called Electrical and Electronics engineering, which comes under the Bachelor of technology specialisation. The entry requirements to enroll in this course are to have qualified EAMCET and having a rank in the ranges of 1 to 10000, this is in the case if you are joining after intermediate. Another option is to join this course in second year after completion of diploma, the exam you are required to write is Engineering common entrance test. You have to qualify and have a rank below 100 to get into this course. This course offers specialisation in the areas related to electrical and electronics. If you are interested in circuits, energy, machines, controllers, etc. It will be beneficial for you to enroll into this course.

The faculties that are teaching in this specific course are having an experience of at least 10 years in this field. All the faculty members hold philosophical doctorate, and are experts in their domain of specialisation. Each faculty member has their own teaching style. They show us the subject with proper documentation support and guide us if we have any doubts. They encourage an interactive session while teaching, wherein the students get to answer the questions and ask their doubts. The faculty members are all very senior and well-respected members in the society of engineers.

One of the main positive points about this college is its infrastructure. The buildings are build in a land spanning 100 acres in area. The administrative block is modern. JNTUH gives importance to student's physical activities, hence there is a basketball court, tennis court, indoor gym, badminton court, table tennis court, and a humongous ground. The classes have great infrastructure including new desks and boards for major part. However, some classes have desks that are not up to the mark. The blocks of each department are built nicely.

The campus life at JNTUH is an interesting and thrilling to say the least. There are many events held throughout the year, such as technical fest, sports event, fresher's party, etc. There are many clubs in the college from various departments, where students from different departments join to work on activities of common interest. There are many useful and knowledge filled seminars that are conducted regularly in the college, which are attended by many famous and successful personalities.
