Experience with IIT Hyderabad

Overall Rating
IIT Hyderabad is amongst the top emerging institutes of India. It has really good hostels and infrastructure of academic blocks. At par with IIT Guwahati in opening and closing ranks of JOSAA, it has great focus on research. It also has technology research park and industrial research centers liker tihan. It has a good incubation center for startup and may provide good opportunity due to proximity to Hyderabad. As it is relatively new it has a lesser competition for clubs and overall, as compared to other older IITs.
 

Academics Rating
As my branch is Engineering Science, we have a good combination of courses from all branches in first 3 semesters and then options to choose from a basket of courses. You need to get a decent under 10000 ranks in JEE Advanced to get admission here and under 1000 to get a good branch. The cutoff of JOSAA is decreasing year on year as IIT is growing. We can get minor, double major or specialization (as in case with my branch) in fields like CS or AI, provided your CGPA is above 9 or even 9.3.
 

Faculty Rating
As IIT Hyderabad is among to engineering colleges in India, it has great faculty, all are PhD holders from top universities of world. Although, the entire faculty are not very good at teaching, but are definitely very helpful. Library is there and all the reference books are available. Faculty provides us with reference materials and tutorials. Overall good experience with faculty and teaching.
 

Placement Rating
Due to recession, in 2022-23, the placement this year was not great but nearly all the students were placed and average package of my branch (Engineering Science) being 18lpa. Highest package was around 70lpa. Good placement is assured provided you do enough preparation. Placement cell is there, they inform us regarding all the opportunities of internship, webinars and competitions. As I am in 2nd year, I don't have much experience with placement cell.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels at IIT Hyderabad are really great and indeed best among all the IITs. Single rooms are provided from 2nd year and to some branches like CS/ Civil/ Biotech from 1st year. All the amenities like recreational room and TV room are there. High speed internet is there with no limit.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Great infrastructure although some part is still in construction mode. New sports complex will be inaugurated soon and now also all facilities like badminton court, swimming pool, hockey field, football ground, running track is there. Busses are there in about every 20mins from main gate to hostels. Canteen, vegetables and fruits market and Supermart is there. Great lecture halls are there equipped with latest technologies.
 

Campus Rating
As it is relatively new, there is not much of alumni base. But crowd is really good; clubs are there for everything you are interested into. Fest which is Elan&Vision is great and many good events are held around the year like E-summit, zozimus, etc. Many speakers are invited around the year to give talks and guide students.

    I am enjoying a lot in IIT Hyderabad. The hostel and food facilities are also good compared to my worst facilities in my intermediate. The courses offered by the academic are reasonable.     My overall experience with IIT Hyderabad (IITH) is great. First of all to get into IITH you should qualify JEE exam. The campus of this IIT is very unique, the infrastructure of this campus is based on the Japanese architecture, and the mess food and the hostel are very nice. Campus and sports facility is great....     Indian Institute of Hyderabad is an excellent and fastest growing among all IITs. Its infrastructure is attractive and mesmerizing. The campus is expanded in 576 acres of land.
