The UILS Department at Chandigarh University is very good for law students. This department is referred to as Block B-5. This block is newly built, and infrastructure is just amazing. HOD's and teachers are well educated and experienced. I have chosen this institute because the University is A+ accredited by NAAC and also the fees is very less as compared to other private Universities nearby. If you are looking for a private university in budget with good reputation, great infrastructure and best teaching quality, you should definitely go for it.

The course B.Com LLB is a 5-year integrated course. Here B.Com (Hons.) and LLB (Law) are taught together for almost 2.5 years. It means some subjects of law and some subjects of commerce you have to study till 5th semester. After that you will only get law subjects. Entry requirements are simple, you just have to give an online exam which is only for scholarship, and you must have passed the 12th class with at least 55% marks or less based on your caste. The motive for enrolling in this program is different for everyone but some common motives like if you want to become advocate, judge, corporate advocate or any other government job in the field of law and many other things you can do.

I will say faculty members in UILS are good. They are well experienced and educated. Yes, of course there are some freshers also, but they are also good. I don't much about their background but mostly they are from nearby states like Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and others. Most of the commerce subject teachers have completed their Ph.D or doing it. Every teacher has their own unique style of teaching. Some teach by PPT’s, some focus on writing, some focus on quality. But most teachers are of very friendly nature, but few are not. This is right also, because this is their professional ethics.

Yes, there is Placement Cell at UILS department, known as TPC (Training and Placement Cell). It is very much active nowadays. Placement is almost 100% but the average package is less like 20-35k. But if you will compare it with other universities, it is better. It will surely increase in near future. It really helps the students to acquire jobs as there are many Tier-1 law firms who visit department for placement. So, it is on the students to learn new skills and get high package. Highest package is around 12 LPA also, so one should make himself competent enough first before thinking about high packages. In this profession, one should run towards knowledge first, not money.

Yes, hostel facility is available for both girls and boys. There are so many hostels for both boys and girls with different names. Now even the AC is available in boys' hostel (Zakir - C). There are 3-seater, 4-seater and 5-seater room available. Boys and girls have different hostel which are far away from each other and also the security is there. Food facilities are available in hostel for breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner. Infrastructure of hostel is just amazing. You will love it. I don't know about the recreational activities provided to the hostel residents and I don't think so there is any.

There are so many academic blocks for each department. As, I have already stated that law department is B-5. You can even face difficulty in finding your department at first time. Infrastructure is just amazing, buildings are new. There is so much space for ventilation. There is lift also, but it is only for teachers. There are so many other small amenities available in every department like food shop, stationery shop etc. You will not face any problem in infrastructure for sure and you will love it.

Institute's overall campus life is excellent. You can just roam in the campus from day to night and still it will not end. There is always some crowd which is mostly students. There are so many clubs at university level and department level which you can join if you are interested. There are number of fests which are organised by university from time to time. There will always be something happening in the university which you can enjoy as per your area of interest.
