Journey at IIT Bombay

Overall Rating
I was always targeting IIT Bombay as it was near to my hometown and also one of the best institutions in India. It is considered an institute of eminence. I had dreamt of this college, so I filled all the branches and got into Chemical Engineering. I was unsure about the branch in the beginning but because I was fond of chemistry since my JEE days, so I thought I would be able to do it. And yes, now I can say that it was not at all a bad decision. The exposure is just amazing.
 

Academics Rating
A lot of practical experience is provided. There are a lot of labs, which makes things even more interesting. The labs are very well equipped and are one of the finest labs in the country. JEE rank trends are nearly similar every year. One could check the previous cutoffs at JOSAA. This branch opens opportunities to many fields. The work done in Chemical core companies is also interesting and also at IIT Bombay, we are eligible for tech companies as well, so that is anyways a plus.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is just amazing. They are very frank, open-minded and non-judgmental. They will push you to expand your thinking horizons and also make you ready for unexpected challenges. They are highly qualified, with almost everyone having their Ph.D. and post-Doc from reputed foreign universities. They are very much into research and also encourage students to do say. The way of teaching is very interactive and good.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is a dedicated Placement Cell at IIT Bombay. Being the best institution in the country, it is always the first preference of all the companies and also some companies offer special roles to students here, which are not offered at any other IIT. They work hard day and night to ensure that the maximum volume of students is placed. The average package is 15 LPA, thought the stats are not very clear. But everyone in my seniors almost got a decent package.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are quite good. There are not many restrictions regarding time. Also, inter-hostel movement is allowed in a wide span of time. Messes do make special food and snacks quite often. Rooms are spacious and overall infra are good. There are shops, tailor, sports area and gym in the hostels. The amenities provided are quite good.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The lecture halls are very well constructed and are open 24x7 for students, which is the best part. A lot of amenities like computer services, free Wi-Fi access, etc. are provided to students. The overall vibe of the campus, needless to say, is very good. Proper cleanliness is maintained, and every lecture hall has projectors, and they have a very dynamic experience.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is great. Mood Indigo needs no introduction. Every time there is something new and a lot of creativity is there. A lot of effort is being put into it by both professors and students. A very aggressive hiring process is done to recruit CTMs and coordinators for the fest. Nonetheless, all this makes the fest a big success. Other than this, there is almost a club for everyone's interest, which provide great opportunities to take part in.

    IIT Bombay has an excellent campus life and culture which provides a great exposure to students. Along with this, it has great faculties and study facilities.
