My overall experience is quite good. Like many others, the decision to choose Mathematics and Computing at IIT Delhi was on the basis of my rank. I analyzed the past trends and also eliminated the branches that didn't interest me. For selecting the college, I referred to the NIRF ranking. It was a very good decision though. The crowd and the kind of opportunities that we get here at IIT Delhi are just amazing. There is something for everyone. We have a large variety of clubs and sports. Our cultural fest Rendezvous and tech fest Tryst need no introduction. The efforts made to get admission into IIT Delhi are worth it.

I chose the Mathematics and Computing branch. This branch opens the path to both Computer Science and Quantitative fields. Along with the concepts of computer science, a good hold on mathematics is ensured. To get admission to B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing, one should have a rank in the top 300 for boys and in the top 1000 for girls in JEE Advanced Examination. In total, the branch is very good for Computer Science and Math lovers as it opens a wide range of opportunities.

The faculty is very good and their way of teaching is unique and varies a lot from professor to professor. We have professors from the best intuitions of the world and they also have a great teaching experience. Some professors are from MIT, USA. Some have taught in IISC earlier. Every professor teaches with passion and great interest.

We have a placement cell at IIT Delhi, namely OCS. The students and professors in OCS work hard day and night to ensure that maximum companies are invited on campus and maximum students get placements. A lot of tech and core companies are invited. In total, OCS really helps students to acquire jobs in the industry.

Hostels are more or less average and one should not expect too much from them. Some hostels have a lot of facilities while others might not. Hostels have their gym and play areas. There is a common room or TV room and a visitors' room. In the girls' hostel, I can say that space is scarce and I hope the admin will do something about it soon. But anyway, there is a tradeoff in everything. To get a great 4 or 5-year experience at IIT Delhi, one has to adjust.

The infra is amazing. The Dogra hall is famous for its "hyperbolic parabolic" shape and the main building is famous for its ship-like structure. Computer labs for students are available 24x7. The library has a large variety of books. There is a dedicated academic block for each department. The labs are well-equipped and a lot of emphasis is given to practical knowledge.

A great crowd and not full of nerds. People are doing great in every field, may it be debating, dancing, quizzing, music, sports. Everyone has their passion. There is something for everyone. We have technical clubs, cultural clubs, a large variety of sports, swimming, and whatnot. There are many inter and intra-IIT events during the whole year. Overall, a very great experience.
