Here at IIT Kharagpur, everything is larger, be it 2100 acre huge campus, diversity of courses ranging from Engineering to Law to Management to Social services, etc. Recently institute also announced the medical courses starting from the batch of 2024. There are more than 15000 people in the campus, there is always a rush. But everything will be mostly available within in the campus. I took the institute because it is one of the oldest IIT. I always to be a part of one of the old IIT. There is a lot of diversity here in the campus. As you enter through the gate you become a part of legacy which will remain with you forever. There is lot of societies based on social, sports, cultural, personal growth, etc. which will give you different exposures. There are tons of opportunities in all the fields so if anyone wants to explore various opportunities and loves to be social, this could be the best place for them. IIT KGP is not just about academics, it totally transforms you.

Admission to most undergraduate programs and postgraduate programs are through written exam. For the admission in MS or Ph.D programs are based on written test and interviews. At IIT Kharagpur, there are wide variety of 19 departments, 13 schools and 9 Centre of Excellence. The courses are designed in a way to focus on practical knowledge along with theoretical knowledge.

Faculty members of IIT Kharagpur are intellectual and have good grasp of knowledge on their domain. Be it professors, assistant professors or Ph.D scholars all are very supportive and helpful. But exceptions are always there, few are very strict and few even very chill. Most of the professors of IIT Kharagpur are from West Bengal itself. Semester exams are medium to difficult level but if someone attends lectures and study regularly then it's not difficult to score well.

There is a Career Development Centre in IIT Kharagpur which manages the placement for final year students and CDC internship for pre final year students. For the placement of 2023. IIT Kharagpur concluded its first phase of placement drive for the batch of 2023 with 1600 offers and 900 internship offers. There were 45 international offers. The highest package was of 2.68 crore on day 1 of placement.

The hostel facility of IIT Kharagpur is decent. All the facilities are provided in the hostels which are generally addressed as Hall of Residence by kgpians. There are facilities of Wi-Fi, regular water supply, meals are served 4 times a day and quality are fine in most of the hostels. Each hostel has its separate playgrounds along with the common grounds. Hostel + mess fee: 40000 per semester.

This is a huge campus of around 2100 acres, it feels like a small town. We have to use cycle for travelling from one place to another. The infrastructure is very good, it has Asia's biggest library which is central library. Classrooms are located at Nalanda Complex. There is a technology student Gymkhana which controls most of the works in campus. Apart from that, there are big cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, etc. grounds.

Campus life of IIT Kharagpur is chill and awesome. We have a lot of diversity; there are students from all corners of India. With great peer groups, we get to learn a lot from them. The seniors are very helpful and supportive. Being in contact with them helps a lot. There provide a lot of resources and fund. There are two fests Kshitij and Spring fest, which are really awesome.
