My journey at NIT Kurukshetra

Overall Rating
Currently, I am pursuing B.Tech from Computer Science branch at NIT Kurukshetra and I'm in 2nd year. My experience at NIT Kurukshetra is full of ups and downs. The academic pressure is little bent towards exams. The facilities provided are quite good and campus is very beautiful. The main attraction of NIT Kurukshetra is its placement which is very good but recently the NIRF ranking is decreased in recent years.
 

Academics Rating
NIT Kurukshetra provides B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, Ph.D, and BBA. The entry exam for B.Tech is JEE Mains in which you have to score qualifying marks. The main motive of entering in NIT Kurukshetra is its placement and NITian tag. The curriculum of B.Tech is revised in recent years and is improving. But the college is little bent towards taking exams at very short interval of time. Overall, academics is quite good.
 

Faculty Rating
Some teachers are highly qualified, and some are Ph.D scholars. But to be honest you have to study at your own like other colleges as the teachers seems to be not interested in teaching. Rarely you will understand concepts in the class. But there are many teachers whose teaching style is fabulous so it depends on your luck what teacher you will get.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is Placement Cell in our college, and it really helps students in getting placements if you are interested. The average and median package of CS/ IT/ ECE is quite impressive especially CS / IT. All placements' stats you can get at official NIT Kurukshetra website.
 

Hostel Rating
First year get hostels H-1, 2, 3, 6. They are very old in infrastructure, but all the facilities are available, and you will not face any problem. The rooms are triple sharing in first year and single onwards second year. Second year get hostels H-10, 4. H-10 is very big and mega hostel which has internet problem. Seniors further get other hostels. Girls get cauvery and Kalpana Chawla hostel. Overall, your hostel life is going to be fun.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is little old, and some buildings are like government quarters but some like semen centre is very elite. All facilities are provided like gym, cafe, 24×7 library, computer labs, and many more. First year classes are held in electrical department and other year’s classes in Computer, ECE and other departments. Overall, the infrastructure is appreciable.
 

Campus Rating
The campus area is of 300 acres and full of greenery. A big size sports ground, gym everything is available. There are many fests organised. The cultural fest is confluence and tech fest is techspardha. The fests are okay but it can be improved. There are many clubs and you can choose clubs according to your interest like technobyte,shiksha,ie cell,mad, dance,drama clubs. The crowd is majorly of Haryana but there are many students of others States. Overall, I can say that you will not regret after joining in NIT Kurukshetra.

    My thoughts regarding this college are very clear. This is the best college in Haryana. The greenery is awesome. This college provides us lot of opportunities and they did many fests. I really enjoyed so much in the fests. The seniors and the faculty members are really very good. Their behavior is very nice. The teaching style of some teachers is really good.   • Life in NIT Kurukshetra

    In starting I don't like the college much because there is no event, no fresher’s party, etc. But after 20 days almost every day something is happening. Sometimes I miss some events happening in college. I choose this college because this is in my state, and I got computer science in reputed NIT. Others should take look in this college because there is no ragging and mess food is decent and seniors are very supporting. According to me this college is 9/10 not 10/10 as we can't allow to go outs... Read Full Review
