College Review, NIT Durgapur

Overall Rating
Truly saying, NIT Durgapur is quite good regarding placement rate and academic wise. When I got admission in NIT Durgapur at that time its NIRF ranking was quite nice, and it was in top 6 NITs of India at that time. Honestly, by doing hard work and practice whatever professor teaches in class students gets placed. We can get this by CSAB and JOSAA counseling.
 

Academics Rating
Firstly, I want to tell you that I'm from Civil Department. Professor of civil department are very strict regarding attendance (compulsory 75% otherwise 1 grade will lose). There is total 8 B.Tech Department in which CSE, ECE, EE, ME, MME, and B.Tech included. ECE and CSE Department are quite chill regarding attendance and students' presence. Many students get placement, so it is much greater than others nit. Academic schedule of civil and mechanical is hectic more than other branches.
 

Faculty Rating
In Civil and Mechanical Department, professors are teaching in a manner that students don't get it in practically. But some of professors have done their work in a very sophisticated manner, even their way of teaching in quite good and impressive. Moreover, professors of NIT Durgapur are all of high standards and good quality. But all the students at their exam's timings follow YouTube and other online platforms to clear the examination.
 

Placement Rating
Some of the colleges don't have placement cell but we have. In every department there are 2-3 training and placement coordinator students. They have to contact to HRs of companies and transfer information regarding any companies to the students. So, confidently told you that students acquire placement in core as well as IT sector.
 

Hostel Rating
There are quite good facilities in hostels. But mess food is not good at all in both the hostels girls as well as boys. But you to give caution money Rs 5000 and Rs 20000 as mess. In hostel, there are many water coolers and Wi-Fi router they provide decent internet connection to students.
 

Infrastructure Rating
NIT Durgapur infrastructure is nice as compared to other NITs. There is NAB and. MAB building. All rooms of NAB have air conditioner and soundproof wall that make an environment of peace so students can pay their all attention to study. Geographical area of NIT Durgapur campus is approximately 180 acres.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is quite good and as I’m a 3rd year student so as now there is no restrictions but if you are a first-year student then there are many types of restrictions such as entry and exit from hostel and campus. As you upgrade, your year restrictions will get reduced and in 4th year you will be placed if you have worked hard in previous three years.

  • How I Felt at NIT Durgapur
     

    Overall Rating
    Firstly, NIT Durgapur is one of the prestigious colleges of India. Courses like CSE, Electrical, Electronic and Communication, Metallurgy and many more branches are there. For taking admission in this college, one should have to clear the JEE main examination with good rank. And also, in 12th 75+ percentages required for taking admission in this college.     The NIT is situated in not very distant part of the city, but it will seem like it because the college is spread over 187 acres. I have been on campus for more than 1.5 years and there are still some places that I haven't visited in the campus, well that another topic. The overall college is more than 7.2/10. The locals of Durgapur are nice and have great character, but some shopkeepers will try to scam you in the campus I don't know whether it is they have to or they just want to and that's the...     I would rate this institute 4 out of 5. As the institute has a good infrastructure, good research culture and a better campus life than most of the colleges. There are several facilities are offered by the colleges, later on I have mentioned it. But talking about the placement I think there are some NITs which provide better placement record than it at the same level.     I knew that the biotechnology department is very good in NIT Durgapur, so I wanted to choose NIT Durgapur. In this college hostel facility are also good. Placement are great in this college and a lot of companies and organization visit for campus placement. There are 14 hostels, 10 for boys and 4 for girls. Hostels are very good in this Institute....
