Hello everyone, I am currently studying in St. Thomas' College of Engineering and Technology (STCET) and those who are looking for admission in this college, they should know the pros and cons of this college. Since I'm from this college. Here's my review, STCET is one of the reputed engineering colleges in Kolkata affiliated to MAKAUT. If you want to get admission you need to score a decent rank in WBJEE around 10k-25k. If you are looking for a college with good placements, then this college will provide you but remember it's all up to you how you perform. This college placement record is superb, but the package is not satisfactory average is 3-6 LPA. For Non-IT/ CSE student it's little difficult since very few core companies visit our college but core students will also be eligible for IT companies. One of key point is my college do not advertise like other colleges and I can assure you that STCET has one of the best placement records among all private colleges in Kolkata.

STCET never compromises with education, it is their top priority. Our college has provided many successful students throughout the year. My college offers five course that are CSE, IT, ECE, EE and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) which is newly introduced in 2021. WBJEE closing rank for CSE - 8k-10k , IT - 13k-15k, ECE - 20k-25k, AIML - 21k-24k, EE - 42k. You can easily pass all the examinations including internals with minimum efforts. This college is very concerned about academics. You will always get support.

STCET has not very promising faculties but few of them are really superb. Faculties are not so friendly but will guide you through out your 4 years of course. Those who are non-native to Bengali find difficult to grasp the lectures because during lectures they use Bengali too they mix English and Bengali, and you will face problems especially during practicals.

Placement records are quite impressive; you can see it on STCET website. Only the college student can tell you the actual figures. I heard from my seniors that most of them got at least one offer and those who got from off campus they are also included in the placement record. On campus placement is not satisfactory with average package of 4 lakh companies which comes are LTI, Mindtree, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini which are mass recruiters for core branch placements, most students land in IT companies at last.

STCET has no hostel services.

STCET has a very beautiful campus with lot of greenery; big campus but college shares this with St. Thomas school. College infrastructure is old, and it is one of the oldest campuses in India. STCET has a beautiful ground and a badminton court at the front. There are 3 buildings. A separate canteen. There are few other things included basketball court but that's all for school properties. You can't cross the college boundaries and wandering anywhere, whole campus is under CCTV surveillance.

Students at this college are friendly. There will be inter-department cricket, football, badminton, and TT, tournaments in proper manner. Some cons are there as there are no cultural fests, parties or anything. Our college has several rules and regulations that we have to follow like no beard, daily college uniform, strict timings. You feel like you're still in school.
