Manipal Jaipur A good backup option

Overall Rating
Manipal University Jaipur is quite famous for its infrastructure and vibrant campus life and that is why most students are drawn to it. While the college has its perks, it is only good enough to be your backup option as the hefty amount of fees is not worth the experience offered by MUJ. The scope of academic and co- curricular activities is limited and if you are a day scholar, you will notice that there are even less opportunities for you.
 

Academics Rating
While the University prides itself on accreditation of A++ grade. Academics is not Manipal Jaipur's strongest suit. The syllabus, material and equipment are outdated as far as Journalism and Mass Communication is concerned and I have come across students from other departments with the same issue. The coursework is highly theoretical, with very little importance to academic areas that are genuinely viable in the industries.
 

Faculty Rating
Like any other institution, Manipal also has its share of both good and not so good faculty members. There are some professors with actual industry experience that will encourage you to push yourselves and keep you in loop every time an interesting opportunity comes along. But there are also professors that will only read put of a PPT and expect you to mimic them in writing during exams.
 

Placement Rating
Placement is definitely the biggest negative point for this university. Might even be a deal breaker for some. The placement cell of college hardly offers any jobs with decent packages. For communications, most companies that showed up were looking for tele calling staff. Salaries offered have been as low as 8k per month.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel at MUJ is one of the best in the country. From hygiene, to sports facilities, amenities, food joints and scenic spots, the hostel has everything. The mess food however, is not the best tasting food option and there are some absurd rules, but then it won't be a complete hostel experience without these.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The Infrastructure at MUJ is one of a kind. It has also been called one of the most beautiful universities in India multiple times. The campus has a beautiful and huge dome building that accommodates design, fashion and administration and 2 other academic buildings. There are multiple auditoriums, and one Amphitheatre with a huge sports complex. If not anything, MUJ is definitely a visual treat.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is fun, exciting and vibrant if you are a hosteller. But if you are a day scholar, it is pretty much non-existent. Most events [which are a lot] happen in the hostel, and most outhouse competition participants are hostellers because they have more opportunity to practice together. MUJ has an annual fest, Onerios that is a 3 day event including dance, music, sports, a concert and a lot of other exciting things. So, if you do end up here, make sure to mark it on your social calendars.
