BA from Banaras Hindu University

Overall Rating
The institute is a government institute and is a central university so obviously we enjoy the benefits that come along with that. In terms of facilities, it's good we get free bus service, and medical facilities. But the infrastructure is a little outdated and the department's management is not so good. However, you get the tag of a BHU student, which is helpful in many places.
 

Academics Rating
The education is very self oriented. Students mainly do everything themselves. The teachers are a little lazy but some still are good and provide good content and actually teach you. I have economics, history and psychology. I also have to study language and ancillary subject with those. So 5 makes it's a lot for a BA program but in last year we only study one.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is okay. For history, its okay some teachers are nice while some are boring. For economics, again some teachers are very dedicated and teach really well while for some papers we have to study ourselves. The psychology department is really good and has good teachers. They assist you in both academic and non academic fields.
 

Placement Rating
Not so sure about this for BA students. But UPCC keeps posting job opportunities.
 

Hostel Rating
I don't live there but the mess has decent food compared to hostels outside. Although the rooms are a little small.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is a little outdated. We have really old tables and chairs. The canteen is so small and has very limited items. There are smart boards and lecture halls but only 2 and mostly they are engaged. The library doesn't have all the books required and only has old edition of the books.
 

Campus Rating
The crowd is good and it has a competitive environment. It pushes one to study. Inside the campus the roads are good and clean and mostly peaceful but the area outside especially Lanka is very crowded. The worst thing is that people here protest for everything and block roads. As far as fests are concerned we have a lot and it's really fun and nice.

    Banaras Hindu University is very reputed university in India and best university in Uttar Pradesh in terms of facilities. I'm from Commerce background searching to pursue B.Com and got admission in this college through CUET exam. Overall, facilities are good.... Read Full Review

    As we all are aware that Banaras Hindu University is globally recognized university and one the prestigious university in India. The most important thing in making it so is the Academics part. As a student of Commerce department in BHU, I can tell you about my department only. Though it's not the best but I can confidently say that our faculty can easily make into top 10 institutes for Commerce students in India, especially for the B.com (Hons.).     The great legacy of the university known as Banaras Hindu University. It is one of the best University in Asia and the largest residential too. My college was Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) and I chose it due to the fact that it had an excellent reputation and it had one of the most important things called a PG quota which helps a lot in future PG exams as well....     BHU ranks 5th in India's top central university while Institute of Agricultural Sciences ranks 4th in top agriculture and allied sector. Agriculture has much scope and BHU gives the opportunity to explore this field. Government jobs, corporate jobs, banking, research and many opportunities are offered to the students of at BHU.
