National Institute of Technology B.Tech Review By Keshav Raj

My experience at NIT Manipur is well going and I am enjoying this place since it is surrounded by nature beauty from all sides. Administration and academics is very strict here. Since my JEE rank is around 38,000 so I got ECE branch here by CSAB counseling. Here placements are going well on-campus and off-campus and currently this year (2022-2023) about 149/170 students were placed. Currently in 2023, the NIRF has ranked NIT Manipur at 95th and among the top 15 NITs, so students if given a seat in any of the branch should accept the seat and come here to experience the government college rather than to select the private colleges.

Here, B.Tech, M.Tech, and PhD courses are provided to the students. For B.Tech course, you must have to appear in the JEE Mains examination and qualify with a better percentile, since this college is in now top 15 of the 31 nits, so you can expect the ranks to deserve a seat here. However due to category reservation if you got about above 82 percentile, then you can get a seat in Mechanical or Civil departments here. Here, there is an option of branch change after 1st year completion, if you got a seat in the Civil branch due to rank in JEE Mains, you can change your branch by scoring 9+ CGPA in your batch and among the top 10 of your batch and directly can go in the CSE branch. For M.Tech and PhD you can directly enroll into it by giving proper exam for that requirement.

The faculty members are really very helpful, and are well qualified. Most of the faculty members are NIT or IIT qualified and most of them are PhD scholars and are well educated. They are very helpful in providing notes at the exam time. Since this is an autonomous university, the faculty makes the semester question, so passing the semester exams is going to be very easy. So no need to worry about semester exams. Faculty members are well educated and they teach in English and in very easy way since students from all over India come here.

Yes, there is a T&P Cell in my Institute. Every year most of the students in 7th and 8th semesters got placed from this placement cell and most of the top companies like Amazon, Microsoft, L&T, Veritas, etc. are coming here every year for the demand of skills. Most of my seniors have cracked the college placements with the best packages.

Yes, there are 3 boys’ hostel and 2 girls’ hostels in my institute for the residence of students that come from different parts of the nation. There is well defined hostel and mess also. Hostel infrastructure is also good in this low lying Imphal area. Wi-Fi is provided in the hostel so that there is no obstruction of internet to the students. 3 students can live in one room. Each room has a table, chair, cupboard, and a bed. Overall the hostel life becomes very easy and enjoying with all the friends you make.

Well, campus infrastructure is not good at that level. NIT Manipur is in Imphal which is a low lying area in which rainwater mainly gets stuck in the campus as there is no well drainage system. Academic and Administrative blocks are small and not like a second floor or third floor, the only floor is ground floor. So honestly speaking campus has a great need of well infrastructure, drainage system, and better classrooms.

Institute’s overall campus life is very well. In spite of no drainage system in the campus, there is a small road with a height made, so that no classes will be paused due to rain which is continuously there whole year. I think according to my knowledge about 1,000 students are there in overall B.Tech, M.Tech, and PhD. So, this is average crowd, not that much. There are various clubs here like sports club, coding club, singing club, dancing club, and many more. Here is also one technical fest which is named Ougri which is made with the collaboration of students and different investors. All students are really helpful towards each other. Local students which are from Manipur are really very helpful. I will recommend this college to all the people who are hesitating because of the area. You should at least once visit the college rather than going to other private colleges.
