Adamas University's RICE Group Connection Boosts Career Success

Adamas University is established in 2014 a private university situated in Barasat, Kolkata. University was established in 2014 by the Chairman of Roy's Institute of Competitive Examination Private Limited (RICE) Group – “ Prof. Samit Ray" who also happens to be the chancellor of this University. The University has International accreditations i.e. during these entire 6 years of the formation of this university, Chancellor Samit Ray had took a strong Initiative to Collaborate with 50+ universities all across the globe. These Collaborations helps our students to do researches in any assignments which they love to do in a more advanced manner which may lead to a prosperous & bright future in their respective field. Not only that, Few of our students from various departments visit collaborated universities through International Relations Department from our university for few weeks, so that they get much exposure and be aware of newly advanced techniques of learning. Adamas University sponsors academic money also for students those who are interested in this abroad programmes.

Now, as it is associated with the RICE Group which happens to be almost 35 years old now, so we all are much aware that RICE Group is famously known for its government jobs and their success rate is best till date out of all the entire training institutes. Almost 80% Government employees have been trained from rice group in West Bengal. Therefore in this university apart from all the regular curriculum courses and programmes, university provides special training sessions for students to prepare for government jobs like Bank, Rail, WBCS, IAS & IPS like top rank government services and their success rate is very good. After training from RICE Foundation near about more than 80% determined students those who does hard work gets to crack interviews for the above mentioned government jobs.
Now I’m coming to the admission process of my university. So Adamas university's admission criteria is pretty simple. The admission criteria for under graduate students is that, student should carry a minimum of 50% marks in their respective Class XIIth and he / she have to give a basic entrance examination in which if they passed they are eligible to take admission in which ever programme they want to pursue their bachelors degree. Though for all programmes the admission criteria is not the same.

Admission particularly for B.Tech programmes will be based on the candidate performance in WBJEE / JEE Mains or Adamas University’s own examination process which is “Adamas University Engineering Admission Test". For post graduation courses, a student must score a minimum of above 50% marks in Graduation / if there is a Grade point system then he or she must have above 5 CGPA & then via entrance examination success rate he / she is eligible to take admission in master degree.

Well same system goes with masters too. Specifically 2-3 Departments have other criteria of fulfilling the requirement of taking admission, like for eg: For MBA Programmes one has to score good marks / one needs to score good grade points in CAT / MAT / XAT or Adamas University Management Admission test. For M.Tech admission, student have to make sure that he / she must score a good marks in GATE which might help to fulfill all other criteria for admission. College management system is also good, as they are very cooperative and helpful and most importantly will be available for all your queries.

Basically I joined Mass communication & Journalism i.e. BAJMC Stream in my Graduation degree. I basically joined this particular course as because in the media industry there is various scope to showcase you talent if someone is determined and does hard work. Because from print media to Electronic one, from Marketing to PR, from Documentary to Feature films, From Photography to Cinematography there is lot of scope in media field. Other than this too, one can do Government job in media sector only like jobs are there in Information and broadcasting department etc.

For Under Graduation course there may not be huge criteria for taking admission into JMC Department, all you have to do have an average marks in Class XIIth standard & just sit for an entrance examination which will be very easy enough to crack and get admission. For Post Graduation degree, procedure will be the same enough. In fact Adamas University has newly launched some special courses in media for masters, and it has been segregated into 4-5 parts like MBA in Communication Management & Events and entertainment management, MA in Hardcore Journalism and much more. And last but not the least, the course structure of this particular university immensely will help students to get a job in a media sector.

So, the number of Faculty in my department currently is near about 16. Out of which 7-8 Faculties are theoretical and rest of them are Practical oriented Faculties. As we all know media is a practical oriented stream so, Here in Adamas University faculties are really very cooperative and each technical Faculties from Still Photographers, Cinematographers to Graphic Designers, Video editors each one are of the Industry. Whether be it from Bengali Cinema to Indian Cinema. And whenever these Industry kinds of people teach students through their practical experiences, it becomes much easier for students to cope up the entire process. And same goes with the theory teachers in my department.

Every theory faculty has a solid teaching experience of more / less a minimum of 10 years in this field and not only this, they all come from Print media Industry or digital media platform or whatever specialization they did during their career. Maximum faculty over here is PhD Scholars. Be it theory Faculty / Practical since they all are highly experienced in the Industry and as well as in teaching profession when they teach us, they remain in any student’s brain forever.

Adamas University Kolkata has dedicated a placement cell that arranges mock Interview for the students in preparation for On-Campus recruitment. AU has collaborated with many companies like TATA AIA, Sun Pharma, Wipro, Nestle, Aditya Birla, Paytm like Branded companies with a peek of practical and professional world through industry visits. Such collaboration also helps students to have summer internships like golden opportunities at the end of the semester.

In our batch, Highest Package for Under Graduation course is being provided by Rs. 1.6 Lacs. per annum in TATA AIA and average package provided in our batch was Rs. 1.2 Lacs per annum in various companies. In this year 2020, 30-35% of the total students in our batch got placed by our university.

So Hostel Facility in Adamas University is really very safe and healthy atmospheric environment with some greenery look makes it even more classy and elegant. One of the best hostels in north Kolkata. Well maintained, they maintain strict hygiene and currently from past 8+ months during this novel Coronavirus pandemic crisis, Sanitizing machine have been included in Hostel, and every student / Officials Sanitizing every time they get out of the hostel area.

Rs. 10,500 per month is the Hostel fees including food and stay. Food quality of our hostel is top notch. Both Girls and Boys hostel are separate and Security has been placed in our hostel in each and every corner in order for safety of our students. Each and every corner has CCTV'S Cameras 24x7.

Adamas University has a huge campus of approximately around 120 acre with some greenery view with awesome nature view. The campus offered in various streams such as Engineering, Management, Law & Justice, Science (Electrical, Mechanical), Media Communication & Fashion etc. Which is segregated into Schools in each building. Every department has their own building. 2 Big Libraries are there in our University campus. In Science stream there are many laboratories and in our media department too, with various modern equipments such as from MAC Lab, Video Cameras, Still cameras, to tele promoter, Audio Mixer etc. This enhances students to develop their practical knowledge.

Medical and emergency services are one of the specialties in Adamas University campus. 3 Doctors visit on a weekly basis, out of them 1 Gynecologist & other 2 are of General physicians for the proper health of all the students, staffs, official, Non-officials everyone.

Overall campus life in these 3 years, is being quite interesting and as well as amazing in my life. Under one roof these many facilities everyone is getting, which is indeed itself is a great privilege to be in. From last year a huge fest is being organized by Adamas University named – “ADINOVA" where from Cultural events to Artist performances each and everything happens in a very smooth manner.
