I chose NIT Jalandhar because it is a very reputed National Level Institute governed by the Government of India. The placements here are superb due to which many students come here. So I will suggest that if anybody gets a chance to take admission here then there is no need to thing, just grab the opportunity if you do not have any other better option.

The course that I am currently pursuing is BTech in Civil Engineering. For getting admission here you have to appeared for the JEE Mains exams conducted by NTA. You can give JEE while you are in 12th class or one chance after you have cleared the 12th class as well. After the exams the counseling program is conducted for getting admission in different NITs and IITs. It is one of the toughest exams conducted in our country.

I'm from the Civil Engineering Department so let me give you a detailed idea about our department faculty. The professors are highly educated and graduated from top universities like IITs/NITs so they have a wide experience about engineering field. The way of teaching is well and good and exceptions are everywhere so to be honest some faculty is rude sometimes but that doesn't matter just have a good relation with them and just qualify the semester. For solving the doubts tutorial classes are also conducted once in a week for each subject. In lecture theatres we have both blackboard and projector system for delivering the content.

Our campus has a separate committee or cell for placement and internships, named as Training and Placement Cell NITJ. It helps the students a lot for getting internships and placements on campus. This cell provides information about companies visiting in our campus for internship and placement.

Yes, our campus has a number of hotels for both boys and girls. Our campus has different hostel facility for MTech and BTech students. For the BTech final year students there are 3 – 4 hostels and for the 2nd and 3rd year students three mega boys’ hostels are there and three hostels are currently under construction. There is a mega girls’ hostel for girls. Hostel provides mess facilities and room for every student. Hostel and mess buildings are newly constructed so the infrastructure is good. Two students have to share a room in which they provide beds, fans, cupboard, table, chair, etc. So overall hostel life at NITJ is excellent.

Our campus has different buildings for each department like Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc. Buildings of all the departments are very large and newly constructed. Each department has its own necessary items. The condition of the laboratories is also good. Main building of our campus looks so beautiful. The Lecture Theatres are air conditioned and have superb infrastructure.

Our college has a wide campus of approximately 154 acres. Campus has a bunch of greenery so it looks so pretty mostly in the rainy season. Environment is also good as it is at a close distance from the main city. It is so peaceful and cleanliness is maintained. Campus has 4 to 5 canteens. For extracurricular activities our campus has many clubs and societies like dramatic club, dance club, singing club, and many more. Sports facilities in our campus is very good as we have a large cricket ground, and basketball, volleyball, football, and badminton courts are also there. There is also a Table Tennis court. Gym facility is superb because it is newly constructed so the machines are also new. The annual cultural fest of our college is Utkansh. That is generally conducted in month of March every year. The tech fest of our college is Techniti. That is conducted in month of October. So that's all about my college, overall if anybody gets a chance to come here, no need to think, just go and grab the opportunity.
