Review of IEM Kolkata

Overall Rating
IEM Kolkata is undoubtedly the best private engineering college in West Bengal only after one of the best colleges of the nation like Jadavpur University, IIEST Shibpur, IISER Kolkata, NIT Durgapur, Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, Kalyani Government Engineering College, and IIT Kharagpur. IEM has the best placement scenario compared to other private engineering colleges of West Bengal.
 

Academics Rating
Bachelors in Technology in this college is offered in various departments like CSE, IOT, IOT CSBT, AI, AIML, CSBS, IT EE, EEE, ECE, and ME. Admission into any of the courses can be done through one's WBJEE or JEE Mains score. Apart from exams one can book their seat in this college through management quota by paying a hefty amount. Academics are good in this college with regular internal tests being conducted before every end semester exam.
 

Faculty Rating
Most of the faculties here are PhD holders in their respective domains or are at least M.Tech holders. Most of these faculties are not up to the mark when it comes to teaching but they do the job to pass the college exams with flying colors. If one pays attention to the classroom teaching and do their homework regularly then coping with the curriculum won't be a major problem.
 

Placement Rating
Placement in this college is better than any other private engineering colleges in Kolkata. Companies that come to recruit students are TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, IBM, Accenture, etc. Apart from the mass recruiters top companies like Adobe, Microsoft, Oracle, and Mindtree also visit for placements.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure of the college is decent. Our college is a 9 floored building with 2 lifts for the use of students and faculty members. The classrooms are quite spacious with several benches and large enough windows for enough air circulation and ventilation. There is a CCD in the 2nd floor where you can have coffee and chill.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is good. Our college has a basketball court, a badminton ground, a gym, indoor games like TT, carom, billiards, and so on. College fests are organised every year and celebrities are also invited to perform. IEM also has a good coding culture where foreign lecturers are invited for several workshops.

    Overall the college is good with good placements and faculty. All the facilities are provided with very efficient machinery. Ample of project and opportunities are provided too. Location is quite accessible from any part of the state and surrounding areas. Discipline is one the most appreciated things in our college.
