Overall Rating
Bangabasi College is situated in Sealdah, Kolkata and is one of the oldest and government aided college of Fine Arts in West Bengal. I joined the college in 2022 in the Department of Sociology, where the finest and well qualified teachers are present to mentor and guide us throughout our journey. The college is in the mid of Kolkata so it is easily to reach the college, transports are easily available, and the ambience is awesome.
 

Academics Rating
My College offers a large variety of courses and I have joined the Department of Sociology because it is a very awesome social subject. The entry requirement in this college is that you must pass class 12th with a minimum of 60% but the admission will be merit based. Very few colleges in Kolkata offer Sociology Honors and the subject is very marks scoring in UG as well as Competitive Examinations.
 

Faculty Rating
In our college all the Faculty members are well qualified. In my department, two are currently pursuing PhD, two are M. Phil holders, and rest are Master Degree holders. Their way of teaching is different. Here spoon-feeding is not done in our. The classes which you will attend, you can easily keep it in your mind for years, because their style of teaching is appreciable.
 

Placement Rating
Our college has a Placement cell. Various companies like TCS, Wipro, Punjab National Bank, Bandhan Bank, etc. come to our college. It is upon student that they want to sit for placement or not and do further studies.
 

Hostel Rating
No, our college doesn't have residential facilities. But many PGs and Rented Rooms are available nearby the college premises.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our college has two campuses both are at a distance of 1 km. In main campus 5 buildings are attached to each other but you cannot see it from outside, you have to start exploring the campus. The main building has a Library, Placement Cell, Principal room, Common room, and many more. The Cafeteria is in the 3rd building. Our Library has many old books and journals of the century. Many Scholars come to our college library for the purpose of getting accessibility to those journals.
 

Campus Rating
Our college celebrates many Fests every year. All the occasions are celebrated in our college from Saraswati Puja to Viswakarma Puja. Annual Sport happens every year with enthusiasm. From study to celebration, from seminars to social activities everything happens in our college. Overall it is one of the best colleges.

    You can join the Bangabasi College, Kolkata after 12th standard and you can join any course in science like physics, chemistry, botany, and zoology. You must be from a science background. You can find all official notices like admission dates and fees details on the official website. I don't think there are reservation benefits but you can check the official website.     The college has excellent faculty members who have sufficient knowledge to teach. Library is also great as it helps a lot to get in-depth knowledge about various subjects.     The Science departments specifically Chemistry and Physics courses are very good in the college. The library is very good with lots of books. Hostel services are not available here. The faculties are very supportive and highly educated. The environment outside the college isn't that much good. It is a decent college for pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree.... Read Full Review

    The Bangabasi College, Kolkata is an average college just like the other colleges present under University of Calcutta. I can say that our college is good compared to other colleges under University of Calcutta. The teaching staff is average.
