NIST is located in Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha, and it is a private college that offers many technical courses like B.tech, MCA, MBA, MSC, etc. I have joined NIST Berhampur for the B. Tech program in 2018. As per my experience I think it is the best option you have in Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha. Placements are very good. The highest package in my batch was 27 LPA in Juspay and the average package was 4 LPA. Almost 99% of the students of my batch got placement from college. Academics are very good. They have very good faculties. Computer Science Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering are the best options to take as your field of study. NIST has a research centre that allows you research in other domains. In my batch 3 – 4 students made a team and made a glucometer. Also it is affiliated with AICTE India and also has A++ grade by the NBA. It has good facilities like libraries, labs, computer lab, cafeteria, and hostel. Food of the hostel is average. Overall it's a nice college to join.

First of all if you want to join in the B. Tech program in NIST, you have to appear for the JEE Mains exam, which is mandatory for all engineering colleges as an entry requirement. It doesn't have much cut-off but if you get a good score in JEE Mains you can get tuition fee free. There are computer language courses like C, Java, and IOT are now mandatory subjects for all branch students which helps all students to get into IT companies if by any chance they didn't get a chance to get placement in their core field. Placements are so good. Companies like Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, TCS, Adani, Tech Mahindra, Mindtree, Tata Steel, Juspay, Western Digital, etc. come for campus placement with an average package of 4 LPA to 22 LPA.

Faculty is so talented and well experienced in NIST. They are highly educated and experienced. The teaching style of every teacher is so good. They are giving their best to students for their understanding of the subjects. They solve the doubts of every student inside the class as well as outside of the class. They are very much cooperative with the students.

Yes, we have a placement cell. The placement team helps students to achieve their dream jobs by providing aptitude classes, interview cracking tip classes in the 3rd year. Overall placement is very good in NIST.

Hostel life in NIST is one of the best thing ever. Food of hostel is average. But other facilities in hostel like 24 hrs water, current, and Wi-Fi is available. Hostel have 4 sharing and 3 sharing rooms. After first year if you have secured a good CGPA one can get single sharing room. Cleanses is the best in the hostel. There are 3 hostels in NIST among which 2 are for boys and 1 is for girls. Hostel is quite strict for girls as its last entry time is 7 pm and for boys it is 9 pm. Overall it is a best experience.

NIST has 7-8 buildings. Academic blocks are LHC, Galleria, Octagon, Tifac, Core Building, Atrium, EDC, and many others. It has a swimming pool, an indoor stadium, an outdoor stadium, an open theatre, a fountain, a rock garden, a cafeteria, an icecream parlour, and a bookstore in it. Separate hostel for boys and girls are also here.

There are 22 clubs in NIST, which is the best thing in college. In the 2nd year of B. Tech. one can enter into a club by giving their personal interview to the club heads. In clubs so many fun events are organised. There are cash prizes also. Welcome party and farewell party is the must in college. The campus is big, so there is not much crowd anywhere, except in the tea shops nearby. There are 2 fests organised in NIST i.e. Sankalp - the technical fest of the year and another is Waves – the cultural event of the year. Sankalp is one of the most popular fests in NIST as it has a DJ night at the end day as well as there are so many fun events organised by each club. Basically, it is a 3 days entertainment and technical fest.
