Motilal Nehru College (Evening) B.A Review By Vastav Singh

I got admission in the Motilal Nehru College (Evening) in BA Program (History + Political Science) in 2019 on the merit basis. There wasn't anything like CUET when I was applying for admissions and on the merit of the top 5 subjects I got admission here before the Covid scenario. I looked up the 3rd and 4th cut-off lists and this is how I ended up in the MLNCE.

Firstly, we were not used to studying in the evening hours like between 2:30 pm to 8:00 pm then gradually we developed the habit. If you are aspiring for any government jobs then this evening college is the correct place for you.

The Faculties here at the Motilal Nehru College are one of the best faculties in the south campus after the Venkateswara College (Venky), so you can say second best in south campus. The history faculties are very good and popular in the Delhi university and many of our history professors are the elected representatives of DUTA (Delhi University Teachers Association).

To be very honest only B. Com. Students can expect some kind of placements. But you shouldn't expect placements if you are pursuing BA here, though you do get many opportunities in the Delhi University as it organizes many university level placement drives and it is not difficult to get a job in Delhi.

There is no hostel facility here.

Yes, infrastructure wise the Motilal Nehru College is one of the beautiful colleges in the Delhi University. This college will definitely be amongst the top 10 colleges of the Delhi University and one of the best in south campus. The large campus starts from a beautiful gate and the statue of Pt. Motilal Nehru. The thing which makes it beautiful is that it has all buildings with a maximum of 2 floors and in front of every block/department there is a garden/park which makes it one of the most green and pleasing campuses. You will love it. I really miss those moments of our college; There is a central area where all blocks meet and it is named as Sundri Chowk. Our college has a big ground ending with a pahad (hill) which is one of my favorite places to chill and there is a big canteen too.

Talking about the campus life at the Motilal Nehru College (Evening) we have different fests organized here by the student representative bodies. Here at the college there are students from all areas. There are also many sports events here and our college is one of the best colleges in DU for kabbadi, also our students have won against the teams of Amity University and Galgotias College. Along with kabbadi there are other sports too at our college.
