Fairfield Institute of Management and Technology affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is a Bar Council of India (BCI) approved institute and NAAC Accredited & ISO 9001:2015 & 14001:2015 Certified institution. FIMT is the top-ranking private institute in Delhi NCR that provides various courses like BCA, BBA, BA-LLB (Int.), BBA-LLB (Int.), B.Com (H), BA (JMC), B.Ed., BA-Eco (H), and BA-Eng. (H). Admission to the various programs is through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by GGSIPU and admission to FIMT School of law is through Common Law Aptitude Test (CLAT). The unique learning environment of FIMT promotes extracurricular activities such as industrial visits, legal aid programs, client counseling, moot courts, seminars, and workshops to enhance the practical approach and understanding of the students. Various committees serve extra experience, building leadership, managerial skills, and providing an extra opportunity to grow.

The college also focuses on internships to help the students to explore a varied career path to gain expertise in the concerned field and strengthening their skills required in the market. There is a sexual harassment committee, grievance cell, and Ragging free environment for the welfare of students in the campus. The college management is quite helpful and praises the students to perform better in academics and extra-curricular and handing resources and proper guidance. The college has organized some of the best workshops and competitions like the 31st All India Inter-University Moot Court Competition - 2015 of the Bar Council of India & Trust Bar Council of India, the International Workshop on Elimination of Bonded labor system in India in collaboration with NHRC (National Human Rights Commission), the Residential Student Exchange Programme with Kathmandu School of Law, Nepal, and International conference on Human Right Prisoner Reforms in collaboration with NHRC. The college provides transport facilities all over Delhi NCR with satisfactory services, the nearest metro station is Dwarka Sector 21, New Delhi and the nearest mall is the Ambiance Mall, Gurugram.

I graduated from FIMT in BA LLB (Hons.). Earlier the admission for law courses was done through CET IPU but from 2019-20 academic year GGSIPU started admission based on the CLAT exam. The eligibility criteria for BA LLB and BBA LLB (5 years program) is that the student must have obtained 50% in the 12th board exams from a recognized central or state board education and the student must have appeared for the CLAT exam. The reason for joining law is to explore the working of the legal system. Law is a dynamic field and a law degree equips many fields like you can be a lawyer, a judge, an associate in a law firm, a legal in-house counsel in a company, politician, journalist, legal manager in a bank, Legal Advisor, NGOs, Judge Advocate General (JAG) and you also can appear for Central and state exams. The combination of Company Secretary and a law degree is a great combination for people opting to enter the corporate sector.

Law as a profession helps in developing skills like drafting, researching, presentation, critical thinking, and communication. Law is a field that requires skills, hard work, and patience. The college and the law committee organize Moot Court Competitions and Client Counseling Competitions to sharpen the communication and advocacy skills of the students. The subjects and the syllabus of the course are decent and not up to the mark than today’s legal industry requires a law graduate. The syllabus may not cater to the needs of the corporate sector as there are very few corporate law subjects. It turns into somewhat hard for students to find jobs in great corporate firms or organizations. So to fill that gap students have to invest money in external courses in their interested field.

FIMT has a good ratio of young and senior faculties that are very kind and always ready to help if any student approaches them regarding their doubts and queries. Most of the faculties have qualified from National Law Universities and eminent colleges. They give the right guidance to students regarding competitions, judiciary preparation, and different law fields.

Apart from that, the teaching pattern in FIMT has become advance now. They provide notes via mails for the betterment of the students if he/she misses the respective class. Class participation is checked and each student has given respective time so, that he/she can get analytical analyzed accordingly. The virtual classes have been a boom till now. Virtual interaction is given equally prevalent as in offline mode. Virtual debates are always welcomed by faculties.

Placement support is not available for law students. Even for internships, students have to make efforts by themselves.

I am a resident of Delhi so I didn't take hostel facilities. But the college has hostel facilities for both boys and girls.

Area wise the campus area is small but it has a good infrastructure with good greenery. The college has 3 separate 5 – 4 storey buildings and the best thing is that it has a separate building for law i.e. FIMT School of Law. The lecture rooms are decent that accommodates around 50 to 60 students and there are separate lecture rooms for guest lecturers that accommodate 80-100 students. There is a Moot Court Hall i.e. a demo court where you can get an experience of regular law courts that gives students a practical approach and training needed in the field of litigation or law practice. The college has a library that has books, reference materials, law journals, and all relevant study material for all the courses. The college provides a computer lab but the law building doesn’t have a computer lab so you have to carry your laptop if you are preparing for competitions.

There is a spacious auditorium for all college functions, seminars, and workshops. There is a facility for a sports room and gym in the college but sometimes it’s not accessible. There is a good and spacious two-floor cafeteria and it serves eatables and drinking's at affordable prices. Apart from college transportation services, the college has provided space for car parking for both college staff and students. You can easily get OLA and UBER services to commute.

Campus existence is very terrific. We all have seen a new life enjoy right here. There is no such inequality in social and economic popularity. There are typically societies related to dance, drama, and different sports. The fundamental competition that the college celebrates every year is the 'ANUGOONJ FESTIVAL'. The college lifestyle, in standard, is pretty excellent.

The management and staff are friendly and a little strict with students so you may feel irritated for being instructed every time.
