Maharaja Agrasen College B.Sc Review By Piyush Jha

My College falls under the University of Delhi and situated at vasundhara enclave 110096 near the Mayur Vihar phase-3 bus stop and sector-15 metro station. I graduated from this college in 2021. My course was B.Sc. Hons. Electronics. I chose this institute because, in the year 2018, it was ranked 32nd in India under college rankings, and my 12th percentage fell under this institute's third cutoff that's why I chose this college. One should choose this college because it has the best infrastructure i.e. a big playground and auditorium, a newly built building and there is no ragging also because of the anti-ragging cell. The English Hons. course is the best in this college according to some English department friends and teachers. About my course, this was also good. The teachers were helpful and kind-hearted. Overall this college is good you should choose this college if you want good education with the best infrastructure.

My course in this college was B.Sc. Hons Electronics. The fee is Rs. 16,000 per year for 3 years excluding the semester examination fee. The entry requirement at my time was 12th percent in the top 3 subjects. Mine was 87%. My classes were going on from 8:30 am till 4:30 pm, from Monday to Saturday. My motive to enroll in this program is to get a job in the private sector like in Wipro and Infosys. If you were a good science student at your school especially physics (electromagnetics) then you should choose this course otherwise you will face backlogs because this is not so easy course.

The faculty of my department is good, the teachers were helpful and took lectures daily and organised workshops also. My HOD ma'am is from IIT and most of the teachers were from the University of Delhi. They are well-qualified in their areas. Theory classes were for 1 hour and lab for 2 hours. Whatever was taught in theory, we did practicals about the same, then that topic was considered completed.

The infrastructure of my college is the best despite being a Government College. There are 4 floors and all the departments are on these floors. There is no separate building for each department. There is a girls' hostel and a canteen is also situated at my college. A big conference room is also on the 2nd floor and there is a separate auditorium for extracurricular activities like social functions and other events like orientation. There is a big playground where you can play football, cricket, kabaddi, and other sports and a separate basketball court is also available. In the basement/parking area, there is a badminton court and gym where you can exercise. All in all, for infra, this is one of the best colleges across DU.

Overall campus life is very good. Annual fest at the college level and the departmental fest are celebrated each year. In the college fest, playback singers like Jass Manak come and entertain us. Many extracurricular activities are going on in the college regularly. I participated in a walk-e-thon in which I was a volunteer and distributed t-shirts and participated in the marathon. Many societies exist like singing, dancing, debating, and acting. Overall campus life is good.
