Overall its a Good University for studying as it has a good environment

Overall Rating
It's my second semester at DAV University Jalandhar and my experience from last all time is very good. The college is ragging free and the seniors are very supportive. Students are mostly sincere and there are no political issues, so it helps us to focus on our studies better. The library services are also very good and you can get all books from the library and no need to buy books additionally.
 

Academics Rating
I am currently studying B.Sc. Honors in Mathematics at DAV University. My overall experience is very good. I was interested in mathematics from starting so I chose this course and the fee for this course is also less than other universities. Entry requirements for this course are just to score 60% marks in the science stream with mathematics subject and you can take admission without any entrance.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members of our department are supportive and good. They always help students with any kind of problem. Most of the teachers are Ph.D. qualified and every teacher is at least NET qualified. Most of the teachers are experienced and have a good knowledge base. The way of teaching is also fine if someone does not understand he/she can ask again.
 

Placement Rating
There is a placement cell and the average package is 3 - 7 LPA and the highest is about 15 - 20 LPA, which is rare.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, there are residential facilities at our university but I am a day scholar so I don't know about hostels.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is overall good but in some places, infrastructure is not well maintained. For example, lifts are not maintained properly. There are three blocks for classes, the first is the admin block and the others are academic blocks. Commerce and Business Management students attend classes in the admin block and sciences and other departments students attend classes in the other two blocks. There is a student center where there are many shops for buying goods and food items.
 

Campus Rating
Overall it's a good university for students who want to study peacefully and enjoyably. The crowd is decent and depends on your department. There are many clubs like NSS, NCC, and sports clubs. Fests are common in this university. There are at least 2-3 fests in a month. In recent days they are introducing e-sports facilities also for students.

  • At DAV you will be taught more life skills than academics

    In Punjab, one thing common is people think of foreign tie-ups and this is why 'DAV' has become a brand name. The University started recently and the flaws are more than the positives. When it comes to private Universities in Punjab, LPU, and Chitkara University Patiala are the best. Being from Jalandhar, I should have joined LPU but their over-the-top endorsements made me stay out of it.
