I'm pursuing my B.Tech Civil Engineering from school of Engineering Cochin University of Science and Technology. I chose civil engineer because of my interest in construction planning and management. I opted for school of engineering because it have good exposure and the faculties are highly experienced in their respective fields. Also it is a college which is present in the urban area of Kochi with every transport availability like metro station, railway station, bus station, auto available near to the college itself. Overall the college’s good extracurricular and academic opportunities and it conduct various events which help us in brushing up our skills. Those who need a good government college with freedom and opportunities I welcome you to school of engineering CUSAT.

First of all you need to clear CUSAT common admission test is conducted by the University every year in the month of April, May, June or July. All the entry requirements eligibility criteria of the admission process will be available on the admission website of Cochin University of Science and Technology. Also if you’re from reservation categories it will be helpful in availing a seat at school of Engineering. For a student in Kerala it will be helpful to get a university level exportation if you study at this campus.

All the faculties here are having PhD in their respective fields and I should say that most student finally with good practical oriented technology. Many teachers have done there PG and UG from well reward in national institutes of India and abroad. For a class strength of 60 students there will be around 10 coordinators and subject teachers for supporting the academic performance of the students.

We have a well maintained and dedicated placement cell at college. They will help you in preparation of interview and the related process to the placement. They are helpful in making a student industry fit by giving us many mock interviews, examination preparations, seminar etc. as a part of training for our campus placements. Also more than 50% of students are getting placed from the campus placement itself.

The college has 13 hostels for boys and girls separately. Offers accommodation and food facilities at very minimal cost. Apart from these students like day scholars can also get food from hostel mess and canteen which is present in the campus premises itself at the minimum cost.

Talking about infrastructure every classroom is smart screen enabled which helps teachers to teaching digital mode. Also the labs available are fully equipped with the latest technology and machineries. Also has dedicated student store, students’ amenity Centre, medical Centre present in the campus premises. The campus has also very rich library which has national journals, lots of reference texts etc.

The annual technical first of school of Engineering is called Dhishna. The annual sports of school of Engineering is called Kurukshetra, Astra and SOE sports. The annual arts festival of school of Engineering is called Sargam and Vipanchika. Apart from these there are more than 20 clubs like GDSC IGBC, SEDS , SAE, UNDER25, SAE, IEEE , TEDx etc which is fully co-ordinated and runned by students itself.
