HBTU Kanpur review

Overall Rating
With my joint entrance examination rank (JEE) Harcourt Butler Technical University was the best college I was getting. Overall HBTU is a good college as it is 101 years old institute, it has very strong and large alumni network. The only thing which I regret is it's bad infrastructure compared to NITs.
 

Academics Rating
The freshers are enrolled in this course on basis of their all India joint entrance examination (JEE) mains rank. The cut-off is different for different branches, overall the cut-off of year 2021 lie in the range of 11k to 95k for engineering departments and goes further low for technology department.
 

Faculty Rating
All the professors have done there PhD from IITs. The student faculty ratio is quite good. And the number of permanent faculty have been increased after the UGC visit. Although all the professors have excellent background still some are very good in teaching they connect with us, whereas other are as usual like in any other engineering colleges.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have a T& P (training and placement cell) in HBTU Kanpur, it provides placement and internships to the students.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes we have total thirteen hostels. Six for boys and seven for boys. The infrastructure is average as they some of them are very old hostels. All the basic amenities are present. Also there is a common room in every hostel where we play TT, carom, chess etc.
 

Infrastructure Rating
As I mentioned earlier the infrastructure of Harcourt Butler Technical University is average as it is 101 year old since 1921. But late or early work is being done to improve the infrastructure of departments. Each departments has unique design, the classes are quite normal with basic amenities such as smart board, projectors etc.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is quit hectic with lot of exams and assignments but the life goes very smoothly with friends around, we enjoy and learn a lot, the crowd have different talent. We have several clubs in which ASCPC (Alumni student connect program committee), Ecell, aero club, auto rob, NSS (National service scheme). We conduct cultural fest 'Adhaya', technical fest 'technika', for startup we have 'arambh'.

    The overall review if I give is quite i.e. a three point five star rating, the campus is good but its infrastructure is so old, as it was started working form the times of Britishers, the classes are also good and fine, they are using digital screens in some of the classes while some classes were without digital screen....     Initially, when I came into the college like other students, I too used to think that this college is not at all good but as the days passed and I explored the college more and more I find it very good.     Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur is a Uttar Pradesh Government Technical University and it is also called HBTU and it is divided into two campuses as East campus and West campus and. I initially affiliated to AKTU but in 2016 it became independent technical university approved by AICTE and it is rated A by NAAC.
