Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore is a private university approves by the UGC and it is one of the most famous institutes in whole India and it is situated in the state of Tamil Nadu. Being a north Indian sometimes I felt the cultural difference in here but that does not affect the quality of the VIT. Institute offer more than 100 programs in various courses and they have really good set of quality faculty members. Campus life and the infrastructure in the college is very good and facilities in the institute are of international standards with Indian touch. Placements are also good in the institute and the VIT conduct its own entrance exam for the admission. I preferred this institute because it was recommended by my relatives and they said to take this and I would also recommend VIT because of the college culture and the placements with really good infrastructure.

I was enrolled in the Bachelors of Technology in Electrical Engineering and in this course, we basically study about the circuit behavior and power electronics and the different types of the electrical machines and how their circuit works. There are eight semesters in the course and to qualify each semester without any back we just need study in class and that is all and by just learning from classes we can score good in the exam. Talking about the admission process then first we have to appear for the VITEEE exam and the form for the same are available on the VIT portal and after the exam we go through the branch selection and then we need the submit the fee if we avail any scholarship then we need to visit the campus. My motive to take electrical engineering was to that I was fascinated by the circuits and I love to solve the numerical in the electrical circuits.

As I have mentioned above that the faculty members in the VIT Vellore are quality teachers and all of them are very good in their own area of teaching and some of the teacher in the institute are qualifies from the VIT itself. Teachers who taught the technical subjects are very good and they are very supportive for us also. I remember in my third semester when I had problems to understand the signal and systems subjects at that time one teachers helped me and he called me in his cabin to teach me in his free time so that is the types of support the teachers here give us. Background of the teachers are very good because they are teaching since the start of their career. Faculty members have done their PG and PhD from good colleges with really good academic record and all of them qualified the GATE exam.

Placements are the key feature of VIT because the opportunity here in the institute for the students are unlimited. More than 700 companies visited the campus in my batch and in these companies most of the companies were MNCs and the highest package in batch was Rs. 80 LPA and the average package was 8 LPA and 55 students in my class of 60 students got placed in good companies and some of them got 2-3 offer and they choose best of them. Alumni of VIT are present in every company so it is very easy to get references from the employees of the company. Some of the famous companies that visited the campus for the hiring were Amazon, Samsung, Infosys, L & T, Deloitte and Intel and these companies hire the majority of the students with decent package. There is also one program in the institute that is carries out each year for the preparation of the placements.

All the facility that they give in the hostel are good and I enjoyed my time in the hostel but the fee is very high to afford like they charge 1.2 Lakh for the two bed room with all the facilities. Although there are room in the college from one seater to six seater where the fee for the six seater is lowest and the fee for the one seater room is highest and there are two types of room are available in the campus one is AC and other one is Non AC and fee for the AC rooms is 15000 more the normal rooms. Food quality is also very good in the hostel mess and every time we get different food and there are two types of food available one is Veg and another one is Non-Veg. We can also opt for the special mess which is also available in hostel. Overall the college hostel is very good but there are also very good private hostel are available outside the campus that we can also consider for stay.

VIT has the world class infrastructure and the example for the other private university. VIT is ranked first in the top private university in India. Each building of the college is named after some inspiring personality. Each academic block is very well equipped with the modern facilities and there are many classrooms in a single block and each classroom is very good. Auditorium is also an attraction in the VIT and the Anna auditorium has the capacity of more than 1500 and this is used for the indoor events. There is center for technical support in the institute for the computer work and they have more than 1000 computer system in here. Sports facilities in the institute are of international level and each types of the stadium and sport is present in the university. Smart classes are also available in the university. Campus is green and we also the use the technic of rain water harvesting and there are also very good quality of air in the VIT.

Life in the Vellore Institute of Technology is not just the academically and it has mix of the extracurricular activities and the classes. There is many clubs in the college depend on the skills and art and I would say that there would be more than 500 clubs in the college and most famous is the sports clubs and this club is responsible for the organization of the tournament inside the university every month and many students participates in them. Two technical fests happen each year in the institute one is October and the date of another is uncertain. Each year annual fest is organized in the month of March and April. There are many activities that happen in the university and we also have many spots in the university where we just spend time.
