Overall Rating
To be honest I had high expectation about this college but it is not up to it. It is located in a forest area which is in outer of Chennai. It is really difficult for the students to go the city side which takes max 2 hours to reach a place. Extracurricular activities are really fun not to complain about it.
 

Academics Rating
Coming to the academic section. We students sit ideal in class all day; they actually don't teach anything properly just give assignments and tells us to submit. For those who are opting this college you have high hopes for footwear but for fashion you won't get a proper recognition.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties never show up class, only 2 to 3 show up to class that to not every time. They just take their own time and show up whenever they want but expect students to be in class on time which is totally unfair. So nothing much to talk about faculties.
 

Placement Rating
For footwear you get really good placements but for fashion you won't get high recognition. For people plan accordingly choose wisely if you are willing to join this college. I feel like footwear is good for this college but not for fashion.
 

Hostel Rating
We have separate hostels for boys and girls. Only 2 sharing and 3 sharing are available. The worst part is girls have to be in by 9.30pm and for boys it's till 10.30pm which is not fair. Everyone should have the equal rights.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is pretty good, just built a new building for the footwear people. But still in process. We have library, 5 to 6 labs for footwear and 1 lab for fashion, so overall infrastructure is pretty good not to complaint. It isn't that far from hostel quite short distance only.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is really tough because it is located in a forest area where students find it very difficult to travel to the city. Students have to travel hours to reach the place they wanted to go.

    I am a student in FDDI pursuing bachelor in design which is a four year course. FDDI stands for Footwear Design and Development Institute has its branches in many states and is run by Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Even though this college is not that popular as NIFT and other design institutes this college provides with good exposure in the design field.   • FDDI Kanchipuram great institute to learn design in footwear and fashion

    Footwear Design and Development Institute is located in Kanchipuram which offers degree in Bachelor of design and master of design in footwear and fashion field. The campus is amazing although I've been here only for few months. As I was very interested in fashion and clothing I applied for this college and got selected through the counselling process.
