National Institute of technology, Raipur is located in the center of the city Raipur. Raipur being the capital city of state Chhattisgarh has a very good connectivity. The college is about 5 km from Raipur railway junction, 6 Km from Raipur bus stand and about 20Km from airport. Raipur posses a tropical, wet and dry climate during summers the temperature goes up to 45 degree Celsius while the winter is not that cold. In winter the minimum temperature is around 10-11 degree Celsius. So climate wise Raipur is a wonderful to live. National Institute of Technology, Raipur stands at 64th position in NIRF Ranking of Indian colleges. NIT Raipur is a government college with a wonderful infrastructure. The courses offered by NIT Raipur are B.Tech, B.Arch., M.Tech and MCA. The various streams offered in B.Tech course are CSE, IT, ECE, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Meta, Bio. Tech, Mining etc. For getting admission in NIT Raipur one must clear the entrance exam of JEE Mains. The opening rank in around 8000 for CSE branch while the closing rank may go down to 50000 depending upon the category and branch. The forms for JEE Mains exam are out in the months of November and December. Around 75% of the seats are reserved for home state category and 25% for other state and the government reservation norms are also availed in this college. NIT Raipur has a wonderful infrastructure, sports, hostel and placement facility. The campus area is spread over 100 acres.

Apart from fest and sports, the faculty of NIT Raipur are also quite good and friendly. They provide regular guidance for both academics and placement related stuffs.

The faculty member’s takes regular sessions, workshops on technical subjects of Data structure and algorithms, operating system, data base management for interviews and placement preparation. Hence the faculty is quite co-operative and good

The training and placement cell of our college takes all important efforts and measures so that many companies come for hiring. Around 100 % placement in CSE / IT branch gets paid pre placement offers in companies like Microsoft , Amazon, Adobe, Visa, DBOI, Arcesium, DE Shaw, Oracle, Assurant, Accenture, Deloitte, Optum, Oracle, ZS, TCS, HCL and Samsung. The roles for which companies hire are SDE, Data analyst, product intern, quality testing, UI/UX designing etc. The skills which they require are web-development, data structure and algorithms, operating system, data base management etc. The Bhilai steel plant and Corba plant provides major internship for non-technical students. The average package is around 10 Lakhs. The average package for CSE/ IT and electronics branch is around 18 Lakhs. The highest package is of 55 Lakhs. The placement of NIT Raipur is one among the best NIT’s of India. I got placed in Adobe for SDE role.

National Institute of Technology, Raipur provides campus hostel facilities. There are separate hostel for girls and boys. The only drawback is that there are limited seats in hostel and the seats are allotted on the basis of merit and reservation norms. So, roughly around 25 students in 100 get hostel. But in nearby areas like Kota, DDU Nagar, Gol Chowk, Ghadi Chowk, Singapore city avails the PG and rental room facilities. Even the tiffin services are also available in these areas. Coming to the MESS and food services in hostel. The quality of food is just okay. They provide a proper breakfast include poha, puri-sabji, dosa, chole, bhatoore, aloo paratha, methi paratha and pakode. In Lunch the meal consists of dal, rajma, mix-veg, chana, salad, rice, roti, aloo-gobhi, soya-bean. In evening snacks there is tea with biscuits, toasts, Maggie, pasta. On Wednesday and Friday there is paneer and chicken. On Sundays night the mess is off. Apart from this our hostel also has a study room, a sports committee and a sports room. Our hostel has lift available in it. The guards are quite strict regarding the in time and all.

NIT Raipur has a quite healthy, happy and optimistic environment. The infrastructure of NIT is quite good – there is a main building, workshop area, practical lab, inventory shops, Amul parlor, canteen, stationary shop, Vachan (shop for daily needs), Gym, sports room, Shiv mandir, Ganesh temple and other areas. The Social Clubs of NIT Raipur makes proper arrangement for providing entertainment to college mates.

These clubs organizes regular interactive sessions, games, workshops to entertain and involve college students. The Annual Fest of NIT Raipur is Eclectika organized by sanskriti club. The sports fest is named as Samar organized by shaurya team. Code-utsava the tech fest and Avartan the science fest. There is a foot-ball ground, basket-ball court, tennis court, gym, cricket-ground, badminton court and sports room in sports facilities. The greenery – plantations, trees maintains a wonderful climate and environment. Apart from these Our college is quite strict against ragging and proper actions are taken against such activities. Our college also provide small free medical facilities. There is a dispensary in our college where a physician is available. So overall from a student’s opinion NIT Raipur provides wonderful facilities and environment for making college life memorable.
