Institute of Engineering and Technology B.Tech Review By Prakhar Singh

Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow is a state government technical college which is affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. I took admission in 2015 that time institute was good and it also offered many good facilities to the students like free Wi-Fi, good hostel food etc. Academically this institute has little to offer because faculty members give attendance without attending any classes and that is the main reason for the bad academic situation in the institute. But institute also offer good facilities to the students like they provide good sports facilities and two cultural fest happen each year. I choose this institute because it was the best institute of AKTU and I got it in the counselling process because my rank in UPSEE was good. Anyone who wants to live a good college life should join this college not for the academics.

I took admission in the Electrical Engineering because I was interested in circuit and machine. In this course we study about the different types of machine, power electronics and about the basics of signal and system and circuit responses. To take admission in the IET Lucknow we should have done Intermediate with good marks. To enrolled in the institute students must have take the JEE Mains exam and then we will go through the counselling process to select this institute in the counselling process. After the counselling process we need to visit the college for the documents verification and fee submission. Institute follows the exam pattern according to the AKTU. In each semester we need to appear for the end semester examination which is conducted by the AKTU University.

As I have said in the overall review of the institute that faculty members here are not good except one or two. Since faculty members provide attendance without going to class hence only few students go to class on the daily basis and this is the reason that faculty members also do not take interest in teaching. But some faculty members are good and they provide best knowledge in the subject with great concept explanation. Teachers are good and they have vast teaching experience with their PhD from very reputed university. I feel that faculty members are very talented but they are incapable to deliver what they know because students are also not interested to study in class because they are getting free attendance.

In my batch 40 percent students got placed in my branch and 60 percent remained unplaced because of the poor placements cell and they are not capable to bring companies to the institute as the private colleges. Private institutes have better placements than this college. Placement cell does not provide any training for the placement but one thing that they provide is the internships. Many good and multinational companies visit campus but they do not give more job. Mass recruiter companies do not visit the campus for the recruitment process. I think that the reason for the low selection in the companies is that they mostly offer 3-5 Lakh per annum job and students prepare for the GATE exam such that they can pursue M.Tech so they can avail good job after post graduation.

Institute of Engineering and Technology Lucknow Hostels are good and rooms are very small for two person. They allot one small room to two people with two beds and two tables and two small almirah and all of that make the room very congested and messy. Other than the room there is one common washroom for 50 boys and in the morning we have to wait for 1 hour to get chance. So overall hostel infrastructure and facilities are not good. But the best part about the college hostel is food because they provide really good food.

College campus is huge and it is constructed on the area of 100 acres which is very big and college has all the necessary resources. Like there is a huge library in the campus in which there are countless books and we can stay in library even in night with permission and also this library has more than 200 seats. There is also one digital library called My LOFT for the access to every journal present in the world. Classes are good but they are not air-conditioned. Classrooms do have a projectors and good furnished tables and chairs. There is an auditorium in the college with 800 seating capacity in which all the indoor functions happen. Indoor sports facility is also available in the institute.

Institute of Engineering and Technology Campus life is good because they do not offer much in academic but they offer good in extracurricular activities like sports and cultural fest and all the events happens in the institute are organized by the students by crowd funding. Yes they take permission from the college authorities to organize the fest such that event happen smooth. I too participated in many fests. I love the life in the institute and specially the college life of first year because in first year we do not have much academic process so we have much to explore in the institute. There are various clubs in the institute for the students like for the social welfare there is a club called PARMARTH which teaches the slum children, and a drama club called JOSH and a literary society and other clubs for the dance and singing.
