LIFE AT IIPE

Overall Rating
Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy is the Institute of national importance, they say. College is maintained neat and clean. Every year, we have sports meet that happens for 3 days and there are also many events like freshers, fest that take place. Overall it is a good experience but since it is a new college, the placements are still not up to the mark. We are still trying to improve our placements.
 

Academics Rating
The course I took is Chemical Engineering. The teaching and exams are up to the mark like we spend less time generally on studying or exams. You can get into Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy through JEE Advance which is one of the toughest exams in India. Academics part is not so much stressed which is an advantage for someone who is interested anything else like they can give times to whatever interest they have.
 

Faculty Rating
The teaching faculty are all professionals from top colleges. We also get IIT Kharagpur lecturers for few subjects. Everyone mostly uses the presentation for every class. They also show us many educational videos in the presentation in class. And the faculty is so friendly except one or two. Everyone is happy and always ready to explain doubts at any time.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our main campus is still being constructed in Sabbavaram, Vizag, Andhra Pradesh. Currently, We are in the principle block of Andhra University, Vizag. So, here we have a library, one lab for petroleum students, AC classrooms for all the batches where each can hold 100 students and also an AV room is there where many events take place.
 

Campus Rating
There will 100 students of both chemical and petroleum courses. So total around 400 students. Yearly, we plan one sports meet, one cultural fest, and various small events. Overall campus life is normal. Not so awesome or not so boring, it is just normal and comfortable. We have different committees like, sports, cultural, technical and social welfare. We do have a student body council and also we have alumni talks frequently.

    Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy, Visakhapatnam is good, and placements are impressive. Around 10 to 15 percent of students secure placement in prestigious PSUs. However, the only issue is that we do not have a campus. On the other side, the hostels are excellent better than any government (including IITs) or private institute.
