Facilities at KMEC Hyderabad: Modern Labs, Canteens, and More

Our college, KMEC Hyderabad is associated as a branch of KMIT Hyderabad. Its campus is shared with another college NGIT. Neil Gogte Sir is founder of all three of them. This college gained popularity & fame and became popular as it was expected to provide good placements to its students. I had applied for this college during my counseling.

I have chosen CSE (AI-ML) specialization because of the evolution & rise of demand of AI in the recent times. Students can get seat in this college through their EAMCET rank, merit, and caste eligibility. The exams are conducted in a semester wise pattern. Each semester consists of two theory internals along with lab internals, followed by external lab and semester exams. The semester lasts for 6 months. With every evolving semester, important subjects are introduced, covering all the fields of Computer Science, AI, ML, OS, etc. There are both offline and online learning sessions.

The fee for my course is Rs. 72,500 per year, which includes the library fee as well. There is also bus service facility for the students to commute; it may charge from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 36,000 based on the distance. Based on the rank of entrance exam and category, students can also get scholarships and concessions. The full fee reimbursement is Rs. 70,000 and half reimbursement is Rs. 35,000.

The faculty is highly experienced having though students in various colleges. They have huge experience in their respective teaching fields. The faculties are very student friendly and have not imposed restrictions over the students. They use PPTs, blackboards, and various other ways to teach students. For every subject, there are multiple faculty members. Even Neil Gogte sir takes classes of 3rd year students to give insights regarding placements & other things. The faculty treats all the students the same. They also ensure that they are approachable at maximum.

The college has placement cell, established just for to provide better placements. It is called ‘Bhavishya Dwar’. The college is known for bringing large number of companies during placement drives. There have been multiple companies that have visited the college for internship and job opportunities. Some of the notable companies include TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Turtil, Vivnovation, etc. The average package acquired by our seniors is 6 LPA. I also have given placement exams for Turtil and Vivnovation.

The college does not provide hostel facility. However, there are multiple PGs and hostels outside the campus where the students can reside comfortably.

The campus is small in size as compared to others in the state, which is a concern. There are two big academic blocks, which contains sick rooms, sports rooms, exam cell, staff rooms, classrooms, labs, library, workshops, and huge auditorium. There are also seminar halls where classes are conducted. There are separate labs for each subject. They are well equipped with advanced computers, internet connectivity, and other basic amenities. The college being newly built is very clean and highly furnished. The college also offers facilities for various sports (both indoor and outdoor. Personally, I wish Cricket ground was bigger. There are two huge canteens with great food options at affordable prices.

My campus life until now has been good and satisfactory. KMEC Hyderabad is evolving with the passing years, which directly leads to increment in new admissions It also has various clubs for Dance, Music, Photography, Arts, etc. which the students can join and participate. Only concern is that number of events organized are limited, say 2 to 3 events per year. However, tech fests and Hackathons are being conducted regularly.
