NGMC Coimbatore: Academics and Faculty

Overall Rating
My overall experience in NGMC Coimbatore is good till now. I joined this college because my best friend joined it. This college is located at a prime location within the city. The difference between other Arts colleges and this college is the placements. Here almost 90% students get placed. For Science and Arts this college is best.
 

Academics Rating
I chose BCA because in school, me and my friend decided to opt for this course together. To be eligible to enroll in this college, you need at least 60% marks in your class 12th boards. The admission process is very simple. The documents required during the admission procedure are 10th & 12th mark sheets and the transfer certificate of the student. The course has a total of 6 semesters. The exams are held in semester wise. The academic curriculum provides good opportunities to prepare us for the real life challenges.
My course fee is Rs. 52,000 per year. The exam fee for 1st year is Rs. 2,040, for 2nd year it is Rs. 2,500, and for 3rd year it is Rs. 2,600. Rs. 6,000 is paid additionally for internships and placement training. The college does not provide any scholarships.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members of NGMC Coimbatore are really good and well qualified. They have done their Master’s degree and most of the have also done PhDs in their respective subjects. The use PPTs, blackboards, and group discussion in teaching. They explain in a very easy to understand manner. The problem solving ability of teachers is just excellent. You can approach them any time you face any problem, be it academic or personal; they are always ready to help and guide the students in the best possible manner. My favorite teacher is Sumathi Ma’am, she is kind hearted. Overall, faculty is really good here.
 

Placement Rating
The placement rate of the college is just awesome. It provides placements to almost all the students. Various companies visit the campus for placement drives such as, TCS, Infosys, Sutherland, Accenture, and CTS. Placement related activities are conducted by the college placement cell such as aptitude classes, resume building, etc. for the final year students. The average package offered was 3 LPA and highest package was 9 LPA in 2024. I am in my second year so, I am not yet eligible to sit for placements but I am very excited for the same.
 

Hostel Rating
The college offers hostel facilities. The hostels are separate for both boys and girls. Though the residential facilities are good but the mess food is average and needs to improve. The hostel fee is Rs. 50,000. According to the hostel rules, the hostellers cannot bring any day scholar student of the college in the hostel premises. The hostel curfew starts from 7 PM.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The NGMC Coimbatore campus is of 230 acres. The infrastructure is really good. The classrooms are well spacious and ventilated with a seating capacity of 60 students. Classrooms are equipped with projectors. Auditorium, seminar hall, canteen, and library are also present in the college. The campus has medical facilities for emergencies and campus security is given the utmost important. College does not provide any transportation facilities. My favorite place in the college was its campus.
 

Campus Rating
My overall campus life is going really well. I made many friends here. The campus has around 900 students studying in different courses. There are many clubs for extracurricular activities but not every club is active. The engagement in extracurricular events is not really much, for which I think, necessary steps should be taken. Festivals like Onam and Pongal are celebrated here together in the campus.
