Overall Rating
The University is a very popular in the marine field and is over 75 years old. It holds a great position in its field, with its alumni positioned at the highest position in most of the big shipping giants. The university produces the best marine engineers all over the world. The best thing about the university is its navy like life and discipline which is still a missing factor in all other marine engineering universities. The university also holds a great rank in the overall university ranks of the world.
 

Academics Rating
The academics of the university are a little tough, as it is a combination of both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. But on the other hand the study is also very interesting. The exams are held in the university twice in a year and the entry in the university is through IMUCET exam The admission in the university prioritises the top rankers of the exams after which the cadets go through a medical test as well. Only after passing that, admission is possible in the University. The real life challenges in academic is time management.
The annual fees of the university is Rs. 27,500; out of which Rs. 19,200 is tuition fees and the rest is the hostel and accommodation fees.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty teaching about Marine Engineering in the university is all selected through India level exams. They themselves are great in the field and teach very well. Most of them are captains or chief engineers in Merchant Navy and now professor in the university for every subject. There are dedicated faculty for every subject and they are always available to solve our problems. The faculty uses a combination of PPTs and blackboards to make teaching more of quality, and make students understand better.
 

Placement Rating
The placement of the college is crazy with almost every cadet getting place till the 4th year and all.this is not possible without the help of the college placement cell
 

Hostel Rating
In the course of Marine Engineering, it is compulsory to opt for residential program. So the hostel is not an option, but must be taken.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of the university is a little old, but all the classrooms, library, labs, and the workshops are well maintained with centralised AC in all the classes and the academic blocks. The canteen is also good but cheap. The best part about the university is sports and other events. The size of the campus is 33 acres, and the university is also quite closer to the Kolkata port and 10 KM away from the Howrah railway station. However, the university does not have a good locality.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is good with many different kinds of fests held all throughout the year. TEMPEST, our fest, is the biggest marine fest of Asia held in our university. The TEMPEST event accepts participants from all other universities and competition are held in all types of events, including technical, cultural, sports etc. It is a 5 day event and increases the beauty of the university. After the 4 years of B.Tech, the cadet of final year does a great passing out parade marking an end to the university life and getting ready to join the ship.

    I joined this campus in 2021 to become a marine engineer. It was suggested by a lot of industry professionals.
