Pursuing My Dream College in DSJ New Delhi

Overall Rating
My overall experience at DSJ New Delhi is great. I chose this college as it is part of Delhi University and I always wanted to pursue Journalism so this was the best option. It was affordable as well. It has less crowd and very nice people, which is not everywhere. In addition, the college is very newly built so everybody puts extra efforts in making the environment safe and comfortable for everyone. I like my college in every aspect.
 

Academics Rating
My course is 5-year integrated Journalism. For admission, you need to give CUET exam and register yourself for DU. if you get marks as per the cutoff required by the college, you can get in my college (approximately 550+ out of 800). Exams happen twice a year, meaning once per semester. This course prepares you for real life challenges largely as this is a practical course. It gives you daily life lessons.
I paid Rs. 80,000 for 1st year (2 semesters) and need to pay the same for next 4 years. All charges are included in a fee. I just need to pay examination fee in every semester which us around Rs. 1,500. This fee is same for all the categories. College provides merit cum scholarship and financial aid to needy students.
 

Faculty Rating
The teachers are very knowledgeable and approachable. Approximately all the teachers are PhD and highly educated. They use advanced methods for teaching through ppt and digital boards using self-notes and pdf. There are approximately 70+ teachers for 500+ students. I share a great bond with almost all my professors. In addition, the teachers put many efforts in making us understand everything.
 

Placement Rating
There is a placement cell in my college which becomes active during the 5th year of students. It helps students in getting internships, placements, attaining skills for job, etc. There are a lot of internship programs and events happening in my college every other day. Companies that visit my college are like News18, Aaj Tak, News 24/7, etc. The highest package in my college in 2024 was 11.5 LPA and average package is 3.5 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
No, my college does not offer any residential facilities yet as it is very newly built in 2017. However, the college does help the students in finding accommodation in nearby areas.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college has huge area but it has only a building with various halls, classrooms, auditorium etc. It is near Vishwavidyalaya metro station yellow line. The classrooms have sitting capacity of 80 to 90 students. It has great furniture, AC, fans, and lights. The college has its own library, medical room. The sports facilities are also available with all the grounds, security, labs, and seminar halls. One thing I like about my college is that it has great equipment for practical education.
 

Campus Rating
Overall, the campus life is great and peaceful. The college crowd is very nice and helpful everybody treats each other with respect. Yes, there are a lot of clubs and societies in the college from dance, music, and theatre. I am part of Samriddhi, the women protection cell of college. there are a lot of sports fest, departmental fests, societal fest, and annual fest happening in college every other month there are also various activities like Bollywood day, presentations, etc. My overall experience is great.
