KU Jorhat: Academic and Other Insights

Overall Rating
I joined the The Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat in 2023.This university is good for professional courses like B.Tech, BCA, MBA, etc. We have well equipped labs and Good faculty that helps us in every possible way. They bring lots of value addition courses for the students. We have few Center of Excellences in which all the students can participate and learn a lot of things. Hostels are good but the food quality needs to be improved.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. It had a good record of placements compared to other branches. But again it depends on your hard work. For eligibility one should have passed class 12th boards. For the admission process first you need to register yourself from university’s official website and then follow the necessary steps. Academic curriculum somewhat helps you in preparing yourself for the real life challenges.
For online registration fee is Rs. 750. At the time of admission you need to pay Rs. 30,000. Semester fee is Rs. 55,000.
 

Faculty Rating
Talking about CSE faculty members, they are really good. Most of them are highly qualified and really kind. They are always ready to encourage and help their students. You just have to share your doubts or personal problems and they will help you out. For teaching blackboards, PPTs, and group discussions are used in a mixed manner. We don't have sufficient number of faculty members for CSE but overall we have a good teacher student ratio. My bonding with faculty is great.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we do Have a placement cell at The Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat. After 6th semester or just before that, we get to learn about interview skills.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the university has residential facilities. Since I am a day scholar I don’t know much about hostel life. As from what I have heard food quality and hygiene need to be improved.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Entering the main gate, first we have the reception building. On the right we have university building followed by one Centre of Excellence and prototyping labs. On the left of the reception we have administration office, seminar halls, and a library followed by a canteen. Classrooms can accommodate 65 students. We have 2 seminar hall, 1 auditorium, and 1 library. Medical facilities are available; transport facilities are only for faculties. My favorite places are university ground and canteen. Whenever I get time, I get all my friends and sit there.
 

Campus Rating
I am having a good life at The Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat campus making memories and learning lots of things. A good number of students study here. Talking about clubs, we have a few clubs like Body & Soul, literary club, entrepreneurship club, art & culture club, and a coding club. We also have NSS and NCC; you can join one of them as their certificates are beneficial. A number of events are organized at KU Jorhat. Students actively participate in these and enjoy their college life to the fullest.
