Techno Main Salt Lake for B.Tech in CSE (Data Science)

Techno Main Salt Lake is a renowned private institute which is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University Of Technology (MAKAUT). It is approved by AICTC (All India Council For Technical Education) and is located in the IT hub of Kolkata. As a final year student, my journey at this institute has been a mix of learning, growth, and skill development opportunities. My campus life has been amazing as I was able to explore various technologies and clubs which contributed to my holistic development. This institute also provides a strong academic foundation which is necessary for achieving career ambitions.

B.Tech is a 4 year course with 2 semesters every year. This institute offers various Engineering spoliations like CSE, (AIML and DS), IT, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil. I choose B.Tech in CSE (Data Science) branch because of my interest in technology, coding, and problem solving. Data Science particularly fascinated me because it helps us extract meaningful insights from data. It has a number of applications including Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. This institute offers multiple pathways for admission into various UG and PG programs. Students can get admission through WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam), JEE Main or Management Quota. For my course, students usually need a rank under 5000 but it varies for each. There are 4 internal and 1 end-semester exam for each semester.

At the time of admission, you have to pay Rs. 79,800 which includes 1st semester tuition fee and Rs. 5,000 admission fee. For 2nd semester the fee is Rs. 66,000 and for 3rd semester onwards you have to pay Rs. 58,000. This includes Tuition, Student Welfare, Sports, Library & Book Bank, Training & Grooming, and FSP & SAP certification fee.

The CSE (Data Science) faculties at TMSL are highly qualified and include PhD holders, researchers, and industry professionals with expertise in AI, ML & Big Data. All Faculties are highly skilled in problem solving and research guidance. The teaching modes used at the institute are blackboards and PPTs. The teachers also organise live coding and group discussion. They are very supportive and encourage students to participate in projects, hackathons, and research papers. The teaching approach creates a perfect balance between theoretical and practical learning which creates a great environment for students. Their mentorship makes learning engaging and bridges the gap between academics and industry application.

Recently, around 40 companies visited the campus offering job roles in SDE, Machine Learning, and Analyst positions. The minimum package was 2 LPA, the average package was 4 LPA, and the highest package was 9 LPA.

Techno Main Salt Lake does not provide any accommodation facilities to the students. However, students can rent PGs in nearby areas.

The campus is spread across approximately 3 acres. The institute has well furnished and spacious classroom which are fully air-conditioned. Laboratories are available for various departments including computer labs with high speed internet, chemistry lab, electronics lab, and workshops for mechanical and civil engineering students. Campus library has a large selection of books, educational magazines, and research publications along with reading rooms for students. The institute has seminar halls and an auditorium equipped with modern amenities which is used for various academic and professional events.

My overall campus life has been memorable and engaging. The student crowd has different backgrounds. Hackathons, cultural events and technical fests are regularly conducted at the institute. It also conducts annual techno-cultural fest which happens in April and is called "EDGE". There are various internal clubs like Google GDSC, IIC, Robotics, Ankuran, and Geekonics. These clubs organise various workshops, competitions and sports tournaments.
