My Life in IIIT Bhubaneswar: Good Academics & Placements

Overall Rating
IIIT Bhubaneswar is offers excellent education in the field of Computer Science. The faculty for various courses is good. The institute is the best choice for learning coding rather. Moreover, the institute also has various non-academic facilities which facilitate overall growth of the students. The campus life is engaging and provides many skill development opportunities to the students. I highly recommended this institute to everyone.
 

Academics Rating
The institute has 3 branches of Computer Science within B.Tech program which are CE, CSE, and IT. Students can also pursue other specializations like ETC and EEE. Students need to pass the JEE Main exam and apply through CSAB and JoSAA to get admission at the institute. Old curriculum is followed at the institute which should be improved. The exams are pretty much hard but you can score good grades if you study hard. The institute primarily focuses on theoretical learning which is taught exactly as the books.
The total the fees for my program is nearly 12-13 LPA.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are good most of them have done M.Tech or PhD from the reputed institutes. Most of them use PPTs as their mode of teaching. They also help you in your projects and very supportive. You can directly contact teachers if you have problems or short attendance rate. Some teachers are very strict and require 75% attendance. They may not allow you to sit in the exams if the attendance criteria is not fulfilled.
 

Placement Rating
The institute offers good placement services and the placement coordinators are very helpful. Large numbers of firms from different sectors come to the campus for recruitment purposes. For this year, the highest package is 60 LPA, the average package is 12 LPA, and the median package is 6 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, IIIT Bhubaneswar provides good hostel facilities. The hostel building is multi-storied and each floor has 7 rooms with common washrooms. The hostel building has good ventilation. Students can get 3 sharing room at the hostel. They can go outside only up to 9:30 P.M and if you are late your security money is deducted by Rs. 500.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of the institute is well-maintained with internet connectivity. Projectors are installed in all the classrooms. AC facility is only available in labs There are 2 auditoriums for events and workshops. The institute has a canteens and a shop where students can buy large number of products such as cold drinks and all other necessary items. 1 Football ground, 1 Cricket ground, 2 Basketball courts and 2 Table Tennis courts are also available at the institute.
 

Campus Rating
Yes, the campus life is good. Students can enjoy their time at the institute by participating in various events.

    Overall, this college has both advantages and disadvantages. It has a partially good infrastructure and good teachers. It has a partially well college life but in the end, you will enjoy every part of it. It is not like IITs or NITs so it can’t be compared to them but I expected the campus area to be bigger....
