Exploring Student Life at KU Jorhat

Overall Rating
The Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat is a ragging free campus. It's really safe here. Faculties are really good and cooperative. Campus is beautiful with air conditioned classrooms. University conducts several competitions, events, and fests which allow students to show their skills.
 

Academics Rating
The course chosen by me is Bachelor of Pharmacy, I took this as I wanted to study about medicines, their composition, their formulations, and to serve the humanity. Entry requirement is 12th pass out in Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. As far as frequency of exams is considered, the university takes 2 sectional tests and then an end semester exam. We are prepared for real life challenges by internships and hospital visits.
The fee per semester is Rs. 70,000. At the time of admission we need to pay Rs. 20,000 as registration charge.
 

Faculty Rating
Most of our faculty members have a work experience of at least 2 to 3 years. Some members also have hospital and industry experience. Few have done their PhDs. Most of our professors are from Assam only. Their method of teaching is a combination of blackboards, PPTs, and group discussion. If student faces any problem, our professors try to solve it immediately. Our bonding with professors is good.
 

Placement Rating
The Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat gives 100% placements.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, hostel facility is provided by the university. Hostel mess serves really good food. Hostel warden is also good. Hostel fee is Rs. 38,000 per semester including food.
 

Infrastructure Rating
University’s academic blocks are really huge, having 5 schools such as, School of Pharmacy, School of Health Science, School of Business, School of Computing Science, and School of engineering & Technology. In School of Pharmacy we have 15 labs. Campus has a medical clinic with doctors and nurses. University has one conference hall and 2 auditoriums. Security is really very tight here.
 

Campus Rating
Over-all campus life is really good. As the KU Jorhat is always monitored so there is no ragging. University campus has a lush green lawn. There are a lot of club's like art and culture club, literary club, body and soul club, NSS, NCC, etc. Extracurricular activities are conducted like sports events, cultural fest, and a literary fest. There is an annual fest called ‘Techblitz’.
